General Motors recently debuted the 2021 Chevy Trailblazer, a small SUV that is sized between the larger Equinox and the smaller Trax. The Julien Dubuque International Film Festival, set for Wednesday to Sunday, April 24-28 in downtown Dubuque, has extended the festivities to cover five days! “We needed another day to fit in all the great panels, screenings, and events we have planned,” said Susan Gorrell, executive director of the festival. Humble Origins Runde Auto Group's long storied history dates back to the year 1927, which is why many current Runde advertisements read "Runde Auto Group since 1927".   The origins of the Runde Auto Group are quite humble and can be traced back to the day Alfred Runde founded the East Dubuque Garage in earnest close to a century ago.  Alfred C. Runde (1897-1972) was born into the household of August Runde (1866-1941) and Louisa Manemann Runde (1874-1952).  He was the second oldest of 10 children.  His nine siblings in order from oldest to youngest were Lucy, Robert, Mabel, Earl, Emily, Louis, Carl, Mildred, and Oliver.    The Runde kids grew up in the Township of Hazel Green in Grant County and Alfred’s father and mother farmed for a living in nearby Sinsinawa, WI for nearly 45 years.  Alfred married Irene Cecelia Cullen at St. Mary’s Church in East Dubuque in 1927.  The East Dubuque Garage That same year, he also founded the East Dubuque Garage (which would later become Run [...]

The 24th annual Dubuque Reflections in the Park is back!   The lights festival that raises money for Hillcrest Family Services saw a record-setting year last year, raising more than $148,000. Nearly 14,000 vehicles drove through the park.   “The Dubuque Reflections in the Park absolutely could not happen without our amazing volunteers,” said Darlene Bolsinger, Reflections in the Park coordinator. “Their time, talent, and dedication is outstanding.”   Open 5-10 p.m. daily Nov. 22 through Jan. 1 at Louis Murphy Park in Dubuque, this year’s event features many new light displays. The all-new 2019 Chevy Silverado 1500 is HERE! One hundred years after the first Silverado was delivered in 1918, the next-generation Silverado was created with feedback from more than 7,000 customers on what they wanted in their next truck. “With the all-new Silverado, we’ve taken the best truck on the road and made it even better,” said Mark Reuss, General Motors executive vice president of Global Product Development, Purchasing and Supply Chain in a press release. “It has a longer wheelbase, more passenger and cargo volume, and yet, thanks to our mixed materials strategy and mass reduction expertise, the new truck is 450 pounds lighter than the current model.” The Silverado’s grille and headlights are completely refreshed, and Chevrolet is stamped across the truck’s rear bumper.
