Brandon Goranson, a technician at Runde Ford Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram in Manchester, recently completed his Ford Senior Master Tech certification. You’re probably saying to yourself, “Well don’t all repair shops have trained mechanics? Doesn’t that place down the street advertise having ASE certified mechanics?” Well let’s briefly examine what ASE certified means. In a nutshell it means that a mechanic takes courses at a local college or community college and takes a test. The Senior Master Technician title is strictly for techs who have gone to the greatest lengths of the Ford Training Curriculum. Since the title of Master Tech was first introduced in 1999, only a relatively small number of technicians have actually achieved this level of accomplishment. To reach the Ford Master Technician level, a mechanic is required to complete hundreds of hours of school, pass many certification exams and be a Ford Technician for at least [...]
John Riley, who manages our Chevy Sales Department, received the following email message from the husband of Kathie Thor this week. Hi John: Here’s a few photos for your scrap book. Thanks for all your help with Kathie’s Christmas Surprise. She had no idea I had made a deal with you for a new vehicle. There was a lot of excitement at the Thor household Christmas morning. He grabbed some quick photos of Kathie beside her new ride (my guess is that he didn’t have to ask her to smile). Kathie was completely caught off guard by the new Chevy Equinox that was waiting for her at home and the Thor’s had a very Merry X-Mas. [...]

Today I sat down for a chat with Casey Fluhr of Runde Chevrolet. Casey is another one of those smiling faces I always see while walking around the dealership ready to help customers at a moment’s notice. I must say he’s thrown a lot of warm-hearted “good morning’s” and “how-ya-doin’s” my way over the past few years, so I’m now sharing him with the world through this short interview. We might as well get right down to it — What do you do here? Service consultant … when you bring a vehicle in for service, we will check you in and ask you what’s wrong with your vehicle. I write repair orders and talk to mechanics about the vehicle problems. How long have you worked here? I’ve been here almost 16 years. I started out washing cars here as a high school job and then worked my way up to where I am now. Are [...]
