Humble Origins
Runde Auto Group's long storied history dates back to the year 1927, which is why many current Runde advertisements read "Runde Auto Group since 1927". The origins of the Runde Auto Group are quite humble and can be traced back to the day Alfred Runde founded the East Dubuque Garage in earnest close to a century ago. Alfred C. Runde (1897-1972) was born into the household of August Runde (1866-1941) and Louisa Manemann Runde (1874-1952). He was the second oldest of 10 children. His nine siblings in order from oldest to youngest were Lucy, Robert, Mabel, Earl, Emily, Louis, Carl, Mildred, and Oliver. The Runde kids grew up in the Township of Hazel Green in Grant County and Alfred’s father and mother farmed for a living in nearby Sinsinawa, WI for nearly 45 years. Alfred married Irene Cecelia Cullen at St. Mary’s Church in East Dubuque in 1927.

Runde Chevrolet in East Dubuque is proud to welcome Tim as its newest Chevrolet salesman! He will specialize in Chevy vehicle sales, as well as Chevrolet commercial vehicles. Tim, who is from East Dubuque, worked at Runde’s while he was in college. He enjoys the car business, especially at Runde Auto Group. “I like the family-owned atmosphere,” Tim said. “I like to meet new people and making connections whether it would be on a personal or professional level.” Tim’s father was a mechanic, so Tim grew up with an interest in vehicles. “I am a third generation Camaro kind of guy,” he said. “I have a 1991 Camaro z28 Convertible.” Tim has four children who all live in the Dubuque area. An avid Cubs, Packers, and Iowa Hawkeyes fan, Tim also enjoys watching baseball and playing golf. Whenever you’re in need of a Chevrolet salesman, you can reach Tim at (866) 735-5200.

The cost for the special order at the time was just $4,165.90. Its original receipt itemizes features the vehicle included, like a clock for $15, the vinyl top for $89, the rear window defroster for $22 and bucket seats for $121. If you noticed fireworks lighting up the western skies this past Friday, what you were probably witnessing was part of the festivities for the Annual Peosta Parade and Fun Day. The sixth annual Peosta Days event was held in conjunction with the Annual Fireman’s Auction and the extravaganza promised something for kids of all ages. Friday’s events included the brilliant fireworks, skydivers, good food & drinks and live music featuring the band Hard Salami. On Saturday, the Peosta Days Parade took place and Doug Weig and his wife Angela were able to get some great shots of the Runde Chevrolet truck they drove in the parade. It started at Mi-T-M and it ended up at the Peosta Rec Center. Doug said that it was a good time for everyone. But the most intriguing event was one that I had never heard of … Cow Pie Bingo. Doug said that he wanted to play, but it [...]
