Our Ford Drive 4 UR School test drive event on Friday raised more than $5,000 for the West Delaware Athletic Booster Club! The event, held at the Beckman Sports Complex in Manchester, saw more than 250 test drives of new Ford vehicles. For each test drive, Ford donated $20. “It was hosted during a softball tournament so we had a great turnout for the Ford Drive 4 UR School event,” said Aaron Young, sales manager at Runde Ford Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram in Manchester. “It will be a very positive boost for the community.” Thank you to everyone who test drove a vehicle!

St. Stephen’s Food Bank will have an easier time distributing food after getting a new 2017 Chevrolet Silverado 3500 refrigerated cube truck from salesperson Jacob Puls at Runde Chevrolet today! The vehicle is replacing their 2002 box truck that had a failing refrigeration unit. “The parts for it aren’t made anymore, so every time something happened, they had to find used parts,” said Kathy Hutton, executive director of St. Stephen’s Food Bank. “Last time, it took 12 weeks.” Twelve weeks is too long to wait when the truck has important work to do. The truck helps the nonprofit pick up food donations that they distribute to over 100 partner agencies. Mike and Anita P. of Lena, IL, said they weren’t sure if they were crazy when they left Runde Chevrolet on Tuesday. “We’ve never bought two vehicles on the same day,” Mike said. Anita drove off the lot in a red 2018 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Crew Cab and Mike drove away in a black 2018 Chevrolet Cruze. Daniel Wahlert always enjoyed driving his late father’s 1966 Shelby GT350. And now he has his own … that he recently purchased from Runde Ford in Manchester, IA.   Yes, Daniel recently bought one of his dream cars — a 2016 Ford Mustang Shelby GT350 – the same car as his dad’s ’66, just 50 years newer. Dan used to work as a service consultant at Runde Chevrolet in East Dubuque.  He now works for Joe Hesselman over at Autolink in Dubuque.  Daniel’s love of vehicles was inherited from his dad. Jim Wahlert was an avid local classic car collector.   “Out of all the cars he had, the ’66 Shelby GT350 is my favorite to drive,” Daniel said.

It’s almost here! Each day of the Julien Dubuque Film Festival offers a variety of film, music, and entertainment. Yesterday, GMC revealed the all-new GMC Terrain on Facebook Live at the Detroit Auto Show. The 5-passenger crossover SUV will have three available turbocharged engines: 1.5L and 2L gas engines, and a 1.6L turbo diesel.  It has a whole new look with C-shaped signature LED lighting an aerodynamic, muscular stance. A grand opening ceremony was held tonight for the David Canny Rountree Branch Trail, celebrating the completion of a project that required hundreds of hours of volunteer time and $1.47 million in cash contributions.
