The Julien Film Festival will bring together several women in the entertainment industry for a panel to discuss their experiences. The free event will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 28, in the Hotel Julien ballroom. “The entertainment industry is still a male-dominated field, so it is refreshing to hear perspectives from women involved in the business,” said Susan Gorrell, executive director of the Julien Film Festival. “We hope this panel will provide an interesting look at the industry and help to encourage women to get involved in filmmaking.”   Panelists include: Jenelle Riley, Deputy Awards and Features Editor at Variety Magazine, and two-time Emmy Award-winner for her role as host [...]

The fifth annual Julien Dubuque International Film Festival is right around the corner and Runde Auto Group is proud to be a title sponsor! Only 115 shorts, features, and documentaries were selected to be shown at this year’s festival, April 21-24 in downtown Dubuque. They were chosen out of more than 625 submissions in a selection process that spanned several months. “Each film was watched at least 10 times by members of our selection committee,” said Susan Gorrell, executive director of the festival. “The quality of this year’s entries impressed us all and we are thrilled to show the Official Selections at this year’s festival.” The films represent more than 60 countries.

Dubuque’s Film Festival is just a couple weeks away! We are proud to say that Runde Auto Group has been a major sponsor from the start of the festival back in 2012. More than 35 films will be screened Thursday-Sunday, April 23-26. Venues include Stan’s Coffeehouse, Vinny Vannuchi’s, Holiday Inn Rooms 1, 2, and 3, Five Flags Orpheum, Five Flags Majestic, Dubuque Museum of Art, National Mississippi River Museum, Eronel, and Platinum Insurance. There will be fewer films and venues than there were in previous years – a decision that first-year executive director Susan Gorrell said will improve the festival experience, making it easier for attendees to plan a festival viewing schedule.
