GMC revealed the all-new, all-electric 2022 GMC Hummer EV, kicking off what the company is calling the Quiet Revolution. With its signature six-bar grille and boxy front end, the vehicle brings to mind the Hummer of the late ‘90s and early 2000s, but with a modern twist. The futuristic truck’s bold design houses an extremely capable and nearly silent all-electric propulsion system that provides 1,000 horsepower and 11,500 lb-ft of torque. Plus, in Watts to Freedom mode, the Hummer is lightning fast – going from 0 to 60 mph in just 3 seconds! Remember the Hummer? Introduced back in 1992, it was a gas-guzzling machine. Its successor, the first-ever GMC Hummer EV pickup is set to be quite the opposite. Running only on electricity, the GMC Hummer EV SUT will have 1,000 horsepower, 11,50 lb-ft of torque, go 0-60 mph in 3 seconds, and offer exceptional off-road ability. It will be revealed on May 20 with a livestream on gmc.com, which will also introduce the vehicle’s engine specifications and price. Pre-orders will be opened at that time.  GM will start production of the Hummer in September 2021 at its Detroit-Hamtramck Assembly plant, which is currently being re-tooled to produce electric vehicles.
