New GMC Acadias For Sale near Dubuque
Anyone who is shopping for a new GMC Acadia near Dubuque should consider checking out Runde GMC of Platteville. Runde’s has the largest selection of new GMC vehicles in the Dubuque area and they’re considered one of the highest-rated dealerships in the local region. The Acadia with 3 rows of seats is a great choice for growing young families or for people who just like to have a lot of cargo space in their daily driver.
Something that stands out the most about the new GMC Acadia is the front end styling. It’s definitely upscale and very sleek looking. Built into the front end design are standard LED daytime running lights that surround the headlight. This creates a very sharp look when the conditions are right for the DRL’s to come on.
The New Acadia is the Standard in Excellence
Also standard on the Acadia are power door locks, power windows, and heated power adjustable side exterior mirrors as well as an electronic parking brake. The semi-open middle console creates a more open feeling in the front of the cabin and it creates an innovative space where you can put a purse or other belongings so you don’t have to place them on the floor or on the seat next to you. It’s just one example of how the design engineers at GMC are trying to create more efficient storage in their vehicles.
The Acadia is loaded with safety features. One nice safety feature that is often overlooked is a rear seat reminder that helps to prevent young children and valuables from accidentally being left in your vehicle. And in addition to the daytime running lights that were previously mentioned, the Acadia comes standard with the Teen Driver feature, rear park assist, rear cross-traffic alert, lane change alert with a blind spot warning, and a high definition rear camera that allows you to see exactly what’s behind you as you’re backing up. The rear view camera output is displayed on the vehicle’s center infotainment screen. In addition to the backup camera, the touchscreen infotainment center also displays many of the vehicle’s main controls like Bluetooth audio settings, Android Auto & Apple Carplay, wifi hotspot settings, and back seat climate control settings. Oh and, yes, you can also control the vehicle’s radio with it … AM, FM, and SiriusXM (with a subscription).
Driving the Acadia is as Easy as Pushing a Button
The Acadia follows a trend that we’ve seen with a lot of new vehicles lately by incorporating push button electronic shift controls on the center part of the dashboard. Granted it takes some getting used to, but after a couple days driving a new Acadia, it quickly becomes normal and intuitive. And the vehicle’s shifts are so smooth to the point where you’ll likely have a hard time pinpointing when the transmission is upshifting as you accelerate. As for power under the hood, the Acadia’s standard engine is a 2.5 liter four cylinder with 193 horsepower. There is still an option to upgrade to a 3.6 liter V6 engine if you don’t mind sacrificing a little fuel mileage for more power. But you may want to check out the 3’rd option which is a 2.0 liter turbo engine with 230 hp and 258 foot-pounds of torque.
How Many Passengers Can Fit in the new Acadia?
The Acadia is capable of transporting up to 7 passengers and there’s definitely enough room in the 3rd row for adults. The third row can realistically seat a 6-foot tall person comfortably without them hitting their head against the headliner or knocking their knees against the back of the second row seat. Now would a 6-foot adult want to sit in the third row for an extended trip out of town … definitely not. But the third row is quite capable of seating adults for jaunts around town without any issues. The second row is available with a bench seat and that’s the configuration that would allow you to seat up to 7 passengers. However most customers opt for the 2nd row captain’s chairs because it gives the vehicle a nicer look and it allows for easier access to the rear seats.
That’s Not All …
The Acadia is GMC’s mid-size vehicle offering in their SUV model lineup. If you don’t need something with 3 rows of seats, then you should probably check out the GMC Terrain. The Terrain is slightly smaller than the Acadia and it costs considerably less too. And if you want something that has a massive amount of room on the inside, then you should definitely check out the GMC Yukon and Yukon XL.
