Ok so you’re driving away in the new 2022 Corvette Stingray that you just bought from Runde Chevrolet near Dubuque.  It turns out that the whole purchase process was as comfortable and refined as your new Vette.  Now there’s just the open road, 1 mile on the odometer, and the thought of where you might be 1000 miles from now.  If it sounds like a dream, it’s not … it’s a possibility.

The 2022 Corvette represents the first ever production mid-engine Vette.  The world was waiting for a perfectly balanced Corvette with a 50-50 weight distribution ratio and the results are in:  Zero to sixty mph in 2.9 seconds (when equipped with the performance exhaust or the z51 performance package), a 194 mile per hour top speed, and an 11.2 second quarter-mile time.  These are all measurements of a world class super car.

The 2022 Corvette Stingray sports a lean, muscular shape with mid-engine exotic proportions.  The new engine location (directly behind the passenger cabin) is a focal point of the new Corvette’s design.  The engine is visible to the outside world through a large rear hatchback window on the coupe models.  Chevy engineers definitely designed this car with an exterior presentation that would allow them to showcase their new mid-vehicle engine.

Chevrolet says the front of the car was inspired by fighter jets and the front end is also accented by aggressive led headlamps and front air inlets.

Large side air intakes add visual drama and aid both engine cooling and aerodynamics.   Basically everywhere one looks, the new Corvette conveys a sense of motion and power from every angle.

With 12 available exterior color choices and several attractive wheel options allow buyers the ability to personalize their prodigious new ride.

And the designers didn’t forget about functionality and versatility as there is more than ample storage space in this new Corvette.  As you approach the front of the car, there is a touchpad switch in front of the grill, just below the driver’s side headlamp.  Pressing this touchpad will open the front storage compartment, which is designed to fit an airline carry-on size bag and more inside.  In the rear storage compartment, you can store even more items including a full set of golf clubs. 

On the interior of the car, elegant touches like hand-wrapped leather accents and aluminum or carbon fiber trim add to the craftsmanship of this powerful car.  Six interior color choices, six seatbelt colors, and two optional stitch packages allow for even more personalization of the car.

In front of the driver is a racecar inspired, two-spoke steering wheel that allows for an unobstructed view of the 12-inch digital instrument cluster.  And the car also comes standard with Android Auto and Apple Carplay capabilities.

Due to the new mid-engine layout, the driver sits at the car’s center of gravity helping give a “racecar-like” view of the road and a greater connection between the driver and the car.

Drivers who want the most out of their Corvette will normally order the Z51 performance package which provides them with performance upgrades like larger brake rotors, adjustable threaded spring seats, enhanced cooling, and an electronic limited slip differential.  The Z51 package also includes an incredible performance exhaust, a custom rear spoiler and a front splitter that’s unique to the package.
