New Chevrolet Blazer for Sale near Dubuque
For anyone who is interested in purchasing a new Chevy Blazer in Dubuque or the surrounding area, please consider Runde Chevrolet. Runde’s is the Tri-State area’s largest and best Chevy dealership and they always have an excellent selection of new Blazers that are available to check out in person and test drive.
The Blazer is a super stylish SUV and it offers three engines to choose from:
- 2.5 liter 4-cylinder with 195 horsepower
- 2.0 liter Turbo 4 cylinder with 230 horsepower
- 3.6 liter V-6 with 308 horsepower
It’s pretty impressive to mention that even the most powerful of the three engine choices still gets over 20 mpg on the highway. And no matter which engine you choose, you should be able to go over 400 miles on the highway on a single tank of gas. That’s also impressive.
A very nice feature that’s now standard on the new Blazer is Teen Driver Mode. This lets you program the key fob for a teen driver and it will limit radio usage for the sake of safety. For instance if the driver and passenger’s seatbelts are not buckled, the radio will not work. The Teen Driver feature will also provide you with a report card that you can go over with your son or daughter. This report card will let you know how fast they’ve been driving and whether they’ve had any recent rapid accelerations (i.e. if they turned off the traction control and were doing burnouts in the church parking lot … hey, it happens). Reviewing this information will allow you to make sure your teenager is being a safe driver when they’re out and about. It might also save you from getting an angry call from your pastor.
The radio system on the Blazer has an awesome look to it. The vehicle comes with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto both standard so it doesn’t matter whether you own an Android or an iPhone. Whatever type of phone you own, know that GM has you covered and you’ll should be able to get your favorite streaming music into your vehicle’s radio without having to pay extra for it. Because Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard features, it means that those features are even on the base model of the Blazer.
Is On Star Still a Thing?
As is the case with all GM vehicles, the Blazer comes standard with OnStar. There is an OnStar button just above the rearview mirror that you can push for roadside assistance as needed. There is also an SOS button and if you were to get into an accident, you could push the SOS button and if you’re unable to respond to the OnStar operator’s voice, they’ll send emergency help to your exact location because you’re just a dot on a screen with them thanks to GPS.
Great Design without Functionality is like a Sports Car with No Engine
The Blazer is a sporty, stylish, and functional vehicle. It’s comparable to the Jeep Grand Cherokee or the Buick Envision in terms of price and size. It has 30.5 square feet of cargo space behind the rear seats, but when you fold the rear seats flat the total cargo volume increases to 64.2 cubic feet. That means there’s plenty of room to pack up everything you need for a fun vacation or a nice day-trip.
Safety Doesn’t Happen by Accident
As far as other available safety features, you can pretty much equip the Blazer with as many safety options as you’re willing to pay for such as: adaptive cruise control, blind spot monitoring, high-speed automatic emergency braking, a forward collision warning system, rear cross traffic alert, rear parking sensors, lane departure warning, lane change alert, lane keep assist, a rear camera mirror, and a surround-view parking camera system.
While all of those safety options don’t necessarily come with the Blazer as they’re available for an extra cost, you have the assurance that even without all those options the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has rated the new Chevy Blazer at 5 stars for overall safety. Once again, that’s pretty impressive.
The Blazer does come standard with front-wheel-drive, but a lot of people looking to buy a Chevy Blazer in Dubuque or the surrounding area opt for the AWD version because you just can’t put a price on good traction.
Vehicles are the Sculptures of our Everyday Lives
The Blazer is such an aggressive-looking SUV mainly because Chevrolet took a lot of design elements from the Chevy sports car heritage and infused it in the new Blazer design and that’s part of the reason why this has been such a popular seller since it was first released. As far as Chevy SUV’s go, the Blazer falls into a spot that’s a little bit smaller than the Traverse, but a little bit bigger than the Equinox. And as we’ve already seen when we examined the cargo volume, there’s plenty of room on the interior of this gorgeous Blazer.
