No matter how well you care for your car, mishaps like a chip in your windshield, lost key & remotes, door dings and cosmetic damage to your aluminum wheels are bound to occur over time. You can ease your concerns about expenses related to these unfortunate events with one of our complete protection plans. You can select coverage that can help you protect the items listed above for a relatively small monthly amount. You can select protections like alloy wheel cosmetic repair which will allow your wheels to continue looking like new. Key protection is also available which would pay to replace your keys/remotes if they’re lost, stolen, or damaged beyond repair. Some key fobs can run $200-$300 so it’s easy to see why adding this coverage can be beneficial. Windshield repair is an option that will help you in the event your car’s glass becomes chipped or cracked. And we should point out that you should never drive with a cracked windshield as doing so could seriously compromise your safety and the well-being of your loved ones. We’re all just one small rock or pine cone away from developing a cracked windshield and we all know how expensive new windshields can be so for this reason, it’s an excellent idea to add this type of coverage to your new vehicle so you’re protected against whatever life throws your way.
Tire & Wheel Road Hazard
Almost everyone has had to dodge a piece of debris on the highway, hit a pothole, or seen someone along the interstate changing a flat tire. Unfortunately fewer and fewer tires are repairable. According to the rubber manufacturing association’s guidelines, technicians can only repair a tire if the puncture is within a relatively small area in the center of the tread.
And they can’t just plug or patch it, they have to do both with a patch plug making that repair more expensive. Thanks to increased truck traffic and deteriorating highways, there’s a lot more road debris and potholes out there destroying tires and alloy wheels. Years ago, new vehicles came with 13, 14 or 15 inch wheels. Now a lot of the new vehicles come with 18, 19, and 20 inch alloy wheels which are much more susceptible to damage and a lot more expensive to replace.
When you hit a pothole, a steel wheel will flex while an alloy wheel either cracks, bends, or breaks. Unfortunately factory alloy wheels are quite expensive to replace since they’re only available from the manufacturer. And very few vehicles today come with a full-size spare. So if you ruin a tire and wheel, you’re going to be replacing a tire and wheel.
Today’s vehicles also have low profile tires meaning there’s now a lot less room between your alloy wheels and the road surface. All it takes is a pothole you can’t see at night or a piece of debris in the road to pinch the sidewall right down to the wheel possibly destroying both the tire and the wheel. Sure any place can sell you a new tire, but there’s only one place you can get a factory alloy wheel. Because of their deductible, most people don’t want to turn a claim like this into their insurance company because they’re well aware of what’s going to happen to their monthly rates.
Protect your wallet from costs associated with damage from potholes, nails, and other road hazards. Complete protection means complete peace of mind knowing your vehicle is covered from the potential pitfalls of everyday driving.
