If you haven’t yet seen Credité Velo-Trek in action, you will have a chance soon when they race in the Tour of Galena, Friday-Sunday, June 5-7! The professional cycling development team, based out of Dubuque, has had some good performances so far this season. “As a professional development team, our goals differ somewhat from a team whose sole objective is to win races,” said Dave Hartig, the team’s business director. “In the sport of road cycling, the step between top amateur and professional is a big one and often has as much to do with athletes adapting to the lifestyle (on the road constantly) than it does raw talent. So Galena will be a nice opportunity for our riders to stay in one area, close to the team’s home base, and showcase another of our great [...]
Runde Auto Group is proud to be a supporter of VetsRoll! He passed away after a battle with cancer, never having gotten the opportunity to see the memorial that was built in honor of the WWII generation. “We wanted a special way to honor and remember him,” Mark said. And so, VetsRoll was born. This year they will take their 1,125th veteran on the bus trip, free of charge. This trip will include 370 people from 19 states. “It’s become my life’s work,” Mark said. The four-day caravan from May 17-20 includes 10 buses and 1 luxury motor coach, plus a wheelchair lift support [...]

I think [...]
Runde Chevrolet salesperson Nick Roche was awarded second place in the professional category of Art Slam at Voices X on Saturday! This was his first time competing in the 90-minute live painting competition. “It went well,” Nick said. “It went really fast.  It was kind of hard to know when to stop because you only had so long and so you didn’t want to put too much in and not be able to fix mistakes. With about 10 minutes to the end, I was pretty much done.” The subjects of the painting were models posing in the warehouse at the corner of 10th and Jackson streets. Nick’s favorite part was the feedback he received. “A guy was watching me – my dad overheard him, actually – and he said he knew by my style who I had learned that under,” Nick said. “He came up to me after and said he was interested to see [...]

Spring is here and the Credité Velo bike team is ready for action. Around the Tri-State area there are many great bike trails, paths and routes for the casual and recreational biker but I feel that there isn’t much awareness of people and teams that take it to the next level and compete in pro-level races and circuits. I was in this same category of “bike naïveté” until I sat down with Dave Paquette and Dave Hartig who have exposed me to the sport of pro cycling. The two recently opened a cycling business which encompasses a professional development bike team based out of the Tri-States! Pedal on to learn more! What exactly do you guys do? What we do is two-fold. Part of our business is [...]
