First Ever Silverado ZR2
Excitement is building for the first-ever Chevrolet Silverado ZR2 in Illinois. It’s one of the most highly anticipated trucks in the full-size pickup market. General Motors listened to suggestions and opinions from real world off-road enthusiasts as they developed this new all-terrain behemoth.
The Silverado ZR2 is Chevy’s new flagship off-road truck. For decades, Chevrolet has offered the Z71 package to Silverado buyers and about 30% of Silverado buyers opt to purchase that popular package. Over the past couple years, the Silverado Trailboss package has edged its way into the number one spot as the most popular optional full-size truck package.
It’s rare that you come across a truck buyer who isn’t interested in some level of off-road capability in their new truck and for that reason, GM decided to raise the bar.
The Chevrolet Silverado ZR2 in Illinois is for the most adventurous drivers who don’t let the end of the pavement be the end of their adventure. The ZR2 features a high-performance lifted suspension with Multimatic DSSV shocks, large underbody aluminum skid plates, and also front and rear e-lockers. Equipped with an off-road cut front bumper (for added clearance capability), the ZR2 boasts an approach angle of 31.8 degrees which is definitely for the truth-seekers of the ultimate off-road truck.
From off-road adventures in the Silverado ZR2 to just navigating your daily commute in town, this truck has the strength and versatility to take on whatever the roads/terrain throw at it and the 420 horsepower 6.2 liter V-8 engine will put a smile on your face from the moment you press on the gas pedal.

Standard safety features in the ZR2 include: forward collision alert, lane keep assist with lane departure warning, auto emergency braking, front pedestrian braking, following distance indicator, and intellibeam auto high beam headlights which can automatically turn the high beams on and off according to surrounding traffic conditions.
The Chevrolet Silverado ZR2 in Illinois is also equipped with a couple features that serious off-road adventure seekers will make use of practically every time they step into the truck’s cabin. The Silverado ZR2 features a unique Terrain Mode with a 2-speed transfer case. You can use it in 4-high on uneven roads and hills, but what’s really awesome is using it in 4-low for rock crawling. It also has one-pedal driving where as soon as the driver backs off the gas pedal, the truck actively begins to slow down. When engaged while the vehicle is in 4-low, one-pedal driving will cause the vehicle to slow to a complete stop when the driver takes their foot off the gas. This feature can turn a highly technical and complicated navigation of a rocky, steep hillside into a confident, controlled maneuver.
