Sherry, Sabrina and Kara Walen – Someone Got Her Dream Car!

Kara, Sabrina and their mother Sherry Walen, of Dubuque, came in the other day to buy a new vehicle to help Kara get around during the winter. Kara Walen is going to Northeast Iowa Community College and her sister, Sabrina plans on joining her soon as she is a junior in high school. These gals were a pleasure to talk to and were excited to share their experience.

What brought you girls into Runde’s Today?
Kara: I bought a Cobalt 2 years ago but recently got a full-time job which requires me to drive out during the winter. I needed something with all-wheel-drive to help me get around in the snow, so we came in to get a vehicle with all-wheel-drive. I think around here you pretty much need all-wheel-drive

What did you end up getting?
A Chevy Equinox.

How did you find Runde’s?
Kara: My mom and dad have bought vehicles from you before and recommended me to check you out.
Sherry: Yeah we bought two vehicles from Runde’s before. My husband bought an ’03 S-10 just a few weeks ago and I bought mine about a year-and-a-half ago. 

How have the vehicles been?
Really good, no problems at all.

Did you work with Al Kloft on your previous deals as well as this one?
Yep he has helped us with all of our purchases.

What do you think of Al?
Kara: “He’s hilarious!”
Sherry: We like Al, he’s a great worker, he’s “a good one”. We’ll be sending Sabrina to get her vehicle from him when she’s ready as well.

Sabrina, you’re going to be on the road here soon too, huh?
Yeah, I’m already driving around; I actually just got my license just a few weeks ago!
Sherry: We start them off with Junker’s then they upgrade to a newer car.

Are you starting to eyeball any vehicles for your future car Sabrina?
No, I can’t even afford to think of that yet, I just got a job though and I’ll be saving for one.

On a scale of 1-10 what would you rate your experience with Runde’s?
Kara: I’d give it a 9, they work with you and it’s a great experience.
Sherry: Everything was great. Financing was smooth and painless; we wouldn’t be repeat buyers otherwise.

Any more belong to this crew of three?
Sherry: Just my husband who’s out working, otherwise it’s just us girls.

How long have you been married?
We’ve been married for 23 years and have been together for 28 years.

How did you meet?
We met in a bar… back then that’s what you did!

What do you guys like to do as a family?
We like to go to Lake Delhi, we go camping there.

Any Pets?
We have two Rat Terriers. One 13 year-old and a 1 year-old, they get along great.

If you could go on a family vacation to anywhere, where would you go?
Kara: We’ll, we don’t really go anywhere…
Sherry: I’d want to go to New York, I’ve never been there and I’ve always wanted to see the Statue of Liberty.
Sabrina: I’d like to go back to Florida, when we were younger we went and it was a great time!

Watch any good movies lately?
We’re more of a football family; we like our football… pretty hard-core. We all root for the Vikings.

If you were to win the lottery what would you do with the money?
Sherry: First thing I’d do is go on a Cruise. Then pay off the house and debts.

Anything else you’d like to add?
Kara: I roughly knew what I wanted when I first started looking for a vehicle. I kept going on the web and looking around online and Runde Auto Group kept catching my eye with their vehicles. Then I went out looking at Equinox’s at some other places and none of them were as good of a deal as Runde’s.  And it just so happened that Runde’s had the EXACT car I’ve been dreaming about – a BLACK Chevy Equinox… I am very happy.
