Joe Hesselman, who used to be one of Runde’s parts guys in his younger days, obliged us by taking part in a quick Q & A session when he used to work for Runde’s.
Joe is one of the people that says “good morning” every morning to anyone who walks by. He is just a very polite and courteous individual. In hopes of getting a better understanding of this sincere and noble person, we sat down and had a nice chat.
What do you do here at Runde’s?
I am a consultant for the parts department.
What does your job entail?
I get all the parts for the walk-in customers and the technicians.
What do you like about your job?
Uh… everything! It’s pretty laid back here.
How long have you worked here?
About a year and a half.
What did you do before this job?
The same thing, but at a different dealership.
Oh, so you’ve been in the biz for awhile?
Ever since I was 16.
How old are you now? 21.
Do you race for praise or keeps?
Some races give out some money, usually not a whole lot, mostly just for fun. But I play for keeps … I play for keeps.
You like to watch movies at all?
Yes. Who doesn’t?
What’s your favorite movie?
My favorite movie that I recently watched is Boiler Room.
Oh that was one of Ben Affleck’s good movies… one of his FEW good movies… He probably had 3 decent movies out of about 200…
That would be the one.
What’s the most recent movie you seen in theaters?
“The Goods: Live Hard, Sell Hard.”
I was meaning to watch that… does it live up to the hype?
Eh, it was ok. Nothing compared to the movie “Used Cars,” that’s a classic.
You listen to music?
It depends on where I’m at. Mostly I listen to rock and rap. I can’t stand the radio.
Do you have any pets?
I have a dog, Boston Terrier. She’s 12 years old now, she’s still pretty healthy, just can’t see anymore.
Do you have any siblings?
One older brother and one younger brother. The younger one is a senior at Wahlert High School, the older brother owns a repair shop.
What do you look forward to the most coming to work everyday?
The people are nice to chit-chat with.
Do you have any favorite sports teams?
The Green Bay Packers and the Milwaukee Brewers.
How are they doing?
Uh… they are doing … ok.
Ok? Is that your way of saying they are stinking it up big time?
…😊
Who is your favorite super hero or villain?
I’d have to go with Batman.
Months ago we interviewed your co-worker in the parts department, Jason Keane. He said that his favorite super hero was Ironman, so we dubbed him “Ironman of the parts department” but maybe now with the teaming up of Jason Keane and Joe Hesselman, there is a now wonder team in the parts department.
…😊
Thank you for the interview Joe! Have a good one.
Thank you, anytime.
