Raymond Wahl stopped in today to get a new vehicle from Runde Chevrolet salesman Rob Sheehan. Raymond, who is a retired Catholic Priest from Rockford, allowed me to give him a short verbal survey about his purchase experience, about his life in general, and about the history of the Wahl family.
What brought you into Runde’s today?
I decided to get a new car. I’ve been reading about unemployment so I thought I’d do my part to keep the economy up.
What did you end up buying today?
It’s a Chevrolet Impala. I traded in my old Impala towards it.
Any plans for it?
Mainly to travel to and from where I live in Rockford.
What made you come to Runde’s?
I’ve been coming here for years now… I’ve worked with my salesman Rob on several other deals in the past.
What did you think of your experience at Runde’s?
I used to buy from a dealership around Rockford who would help me as soon as I needed something done. After management there changed, they stopped taking me in and started making me fill out forms and asked all kinds of questions I never got asked before. So I said “forget it” and went to Runde’s where they get what I need done.
So you’d recommend Runde’s to your friends?
Absolutely.
If you were to rate Runde’s on a scale of 1-10, with 10 being the highest, what would you give it?
A Ten.
So what do you like to do?
As a retired Catholic Priest I go out to the retreat house out near Rockford to hear confessions and various other tasks.
I also like to come down to Dubuque to get free money because we don’t have that in Rockford.
Free money? …please do inform me sir…
You know, down at the boat, the casino.
Oh, you mean gambling?
I don’t like to call it gambling, It’s winning money. I keep my winnings and bring some people from my Parish down here to have a nice day off.
So you come down to Dubuque often?
Yea, actually years ago I bought a house three miles west of Galena, IL where I stay from time to time. I also live in a retirement home in Rockford.
Generally, how would you say your experience at Runde’s was?
Very nice people, very friendly, very helpful and very cooperative. My salesman, Rob Sheehan, took excellent care of me. Very happy.
Well thank you, VERY much!
Do you have a favorite movie?
I’d probably say Grand Torino.
Fan of Clint Eastwood?
Yea, I like Western movies, anything he’s in it’s good. Grand Torino I’d say is my favorite, though.
Do you have a favorite restaurant?
In Rockford I like the Country Buffet.
That’s all the questions I had for you Raymond, anything you’d like to add?
Yea. I’d just like to ask you – how do you keep your beard trimmed?
Uh… actually my dog just ate my shaver the other day…
Well then, you should get a Wahl… My Father was the inventor of the first electric hair clipper with an alternating current. He followed the footsteps of the generations before him in the Wahl company.
Oh neat! I’ll definitely get one and stay with Wahl as long as you stay with Runde’s.
It’s a deal, sounds good.
