Ford Builds Top-Notch Vehicles, Research Proves It.

Recently Ford had quality studies performed by the 3rd party RDA Group that confirmed what we’ve always known … that Ford builds top-notch vehicles.  According to the results, Ford is even with Toyota in initial quality tests and they passed up Honda by a significant leap.

The results show that in the first quarter of 2009, problems-per-vehicle dropped by 5% to compete head-to-head with Toyota and beating Honda.

The latest GQRS survey measured 2009 model year vehicle initial quality in the number of “things gone wrong,” and customer satisfaction within the first three months of ownership.

The following is a list of vehicles that were used in the tests and what was tested for each vehicle.

• Ford Mustang- initial quality/customer satisfaction for sports cars
• Ford Taurus – initial quality for large cars
• Ford Taurus X – initial quality for crossover utilities
• Mercury Milan – initial quality for midsize cars
• Ford Ranger – initial quality for compact pickups

Here’s a few more facts about Ford:

• Ford’s CEO, Alan Mulally, is not an automobile dinosaur; he was a top executive at Boeing. He is an engineer who oversaw the design of the Boeing 777 aircraft, one the most technologically advanced machines on the planet.

• Ford’s Chief Marketing Executive, Jim Farley, is not originally from Ford; he was a top executive at Toyota and Lexus who was brought in to help guide Ford into the future.

• Reader’s Digest stated Ford was the top trusted brand for the 7th year in a row in the United Kingdom, but the media here sometimes calls us outdated.

• As for the “turn-around” the media/politicians are asking for…Ford made $100 million net profit in the first quarter of 2008
far ahead of the turn-around schedule.

• Ford made $1.31 billion operating profit in Europe the first two quarters of 2008.
• Ford made $645 million operating profit in South America the first two quarters of 2008.
• Toyota has had an operating profit for the last 70 years. This year they are expecting a $1.66 billion loss but the media would have you think they were fine. This market affected ALL manufacturers including imports.
• 45% of all vehicle sales in the U.S. in 2007 were trucks, SUVs and vans. The consumer has asked for these vehicles. The manufacturers build bigger vehicles based on market demand, not to increase global warming.
• Ford/Lincoln/Mercury has been rated “On-Par” with Toyota and Honda for quality in 2008.
• Ford/Lincoln/Mercury have two of the top selling Hybrids in the world, with two more coming later this year.
• The new Ford Fusion Hybrid gets 8 miles in the city and 2 miles on the highway BETTER than the Toyota Camry Hybrid.
• The newly designed F-150 was just named “Truck of the Year” and is the best selling truck and vehicle in the U.S. for the last 33 and 27 years respectively.
