Chrysler Buyers Get a Healthy Dose of Good News This Week

Chrysler logoChrysler buyers and the American Auto Industry got a shot of adrenalin earlier this week.  Because of the U.S Treasury’s recent move to provide Chrysler Financial with up to $1.5 billion in loan dollars, the lender will now offer 0% financing on select Chrysler, Jeep and Dodge models.

Qualified new vehicle buyers can apply for 0% interest for up to 60 months on ’08 and ’09 model-year Jeep Grand Cherokee, Commander, Wrangler, Chrysler Town & Country, 300,  Dodge Grand Caravan, Charger, Magnum, Ram 1500 Pickup, Ram HD, and Challenger.

Chrysler vice chairman and president Jim Press had this to say about the announcement, “From both a customer and dealer perspective, it is exciting news that the Treasury Department is providing funding to Chrysler Financial. Now our customers, including those with scores in the 620 range, will be able to apply for affordable loans and our dealers will be more competitive in the marketplace.  This will provide a great economic stimulus for car buyers across the country. We have customers who want to buy our vehicles, dealers who want to order vehicles and employees who want to build cars,” he went on to add. “Now with enhanced financing available in the system we can help our customers get the credit they deserve and help drive America forward.”

Now, with $1.5 billion in loan money at their disposal, so many more customers will get financed.  So it’s definitely a great time to stop into Runde Chrysler Dodge Jeep of Manchester

Chrysler also announced this week that they have an agreement and have created an alliance with Fiat that will be completed by April of 2009.  When everything is said and done, Fiat will have bought a 35% stake in Chrysler.

This will be advantageous for Fiat as they will now have a strong foothold on the American auto market.  This means that Chrysler would likely bring Fiat and Alfa Romeo cars to the American shores.  And right now the Fiat 500 seems to be one of the most promising Fiat models and would likely compete head to head with the ever-popular Mini Cooper.

This alliance would also mean a healthy addition of cash and assets for the Chrysler Corporation.  I think it’s good news across the board for Chrysler buyers, for car buyers in general, and for America.
