The all-new 2019 Ram 1500 recently rolled onto the lot at Runde Ford Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram in Manchester!
The most notable difference at first glance is the truck’s grille, which is larger and more aggressive. There are six different grille styles to choose from.
The truck itself is lighter — it weighs nearly 225 pounds less than the previous model — but stronger, with an increased payload of 2,300 pounds, and maximum trailer tow of 12,750 pounds.
“The all-new 2019 Ram 1500 delivers a non-compromise approach to the full-size truck segment with strength, durability, technology, and efficiency,” said Mike Manley, head of Ram brand, in a press release. “The Ram 1500 stands out as the benchmark in a very competitive market.”
The frame is 98% high-strength steel and the truck’s wheelbase and cab are four inches longer, giving it better proportions and aerodynamics. It is the first full-size truck without a mast antenna — all navigation, Wi-Fi, radio, and Sirius XM are handled by a new shark fin antenna.
The vehicle has nearly 100% more storage capacity versus the closest competitor at 151.1 liters! The second row includes slide reclining seats to eight degrees, a true flat-load floor with integrated RamBins with tie down rings, and expandable under seat storage.
The all-new 2019 Ram 1500 continues to offer lockable bed storage with RamBox, which now includes a 115-volt outlet. The industry-first cargo management system includes versatile, weatherproof, lockable, illuminated, and drainable storage bins built into the bed rails.
There are more than 100 safety and security features in the 2019 Ram 1500. The newest features include:
- Adaptive Front-Lighting System: Points headlights in the planned direction the vehicle is traveling using steering wheel input to point light around turns, driveways, and parking lots
- Advance Brake Assist: If inadequate force is applied to the brakes in response to signal from Full-Speed Forward Collision Warning, sensors will increase brake force automatically
- LaneSense Lane Departure Warning-Plus: Assists driver with corrective action to stay in the lane
- ParkSense Parallel/Perpendicular Park Assist: Sensors on bumper guide the driver into the parking space. Parallel parking is possible on either side of vehicle by selecting the direction with the turn signal; for perpendicular parking, vehicle backs itself into space
- Rear Cross Path detection: Warns the driver of movement behind the vehicle when it is in reverse using illuminated icons and an audible chime
- Surround View Camera: Uses four cameras positioned around the vehicle to provide a bird’s eye perspective of the vehicle and its immediate surroundings.
- Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop, Go, and Hold: Helps maintain a driver-adjustable distance between the vehicle and the one in front of it and can bring the vehicle to a controlled stop and hold it there. Decreases the vehicle’s pre-set cruise-control speed when closing in on another vehicle in the same lane, or when another vehicle moves into the same lane. The system will accelerate the vehicle back to the pre-set rate once the vehicle in front speeds up or moves into another lane.
