Runde Auto Group is proud to once again be a major sponsor of Run4Troops!
This point-to-point, chip-timed Boston qualifying race runs from Dyersville to Dubuque on the scenic Heritage Trail.
Proceeds for the ninth annual event, set for June 24, 2017, directly support tri-state military members and their families.
“The stories I hear from the participants who have served or whose family has served in the military (are my favorite),” said Race Director Connie Hodge. “Most of them do not come to tell their story — they just feel the comradery and compassion and start sharing. I cry and laugh every year, numerous times.”
Proceeds are donated to organizations including the Veteran’s Freedom Center, University of Dubuque ROTC, National Guard, University of Dubuque Veterans Center, American Red Cross Readiness Unit, and more.
You can participate as an individual marathoner or as a relay team. Relay teams can be 2 to 12 members in male, female, and co-ed categories.
“Many teams wear team shirts and/or take on a military or patriotic look,” Connie said.
There are six legs to the race: 6.6 miles, 4.4 miles, 3.6 miles, 4.5 miles, 3.4 miles, and 3.7 miles. Here is the course map. The race is run rain or shine.
“We have delayed the start, but have never cancelled,” Connie said. “The only time we would postpone or cancel is if there is lightening or tornado.”
Ready to register? The cost for an individual marathoner is $75 before May 1/$85 until Race
Day/$100 on Race Day. For a relay team, the cost is $35/team member before May 1/$40 until Race Day/$45 on Race Day.
The race cap is 100 Relay Teams, so register early!
Not interested in running, but want to help out? There are opportunities for volunteers to help with:
- Handing out food and water to participants at transition areas
- Staffing crossroads to keep runners safe
- Collecting timer chips and handing out medals at the finish line
