The 2024 GMC Hummer EV SUV made its debut during the NCAA’s Final Four telecast recently. The vehicle boasts many of the features of the Hummer EV pickup, but in an SUV body.
“The GMC Hummer EVs were envisioned to be the most capable and compelling electric supertrucks ever,” said Duncan Aldred, global vice president of Buick and GMC. “The new Hummer EV SUV is the next chapter, which will offer many options for customers to tailor the truck to their lifestyles, while continuing to encourage them to forge new paths with zero emissions.”
Edition 1 will start at $105,595 (or $110,595 with the available Extreme Off-Road Pack) and will have an expected 300 miles on a full charge (280 with the off-road package).
Future editions of the Hummer SUV will start at a lower price: a Hummer EV SUV Edition 2, 2x and 3x will start at $79,995, $89,995 and $99,995 respectively.
Driven by GM’s Ultium Drive System, the vehicle offers up to 830 horsepower and up to 11,500 lb-ft of torque (GM-estimated). In Watts to Freedom mode, the vehicle goes from 0 to 60 mph in approximately 3.5 seconds.
The vehicle has a 126.7-inch wheelbase and a turning radius of 35.4 feet.
Noteable features include:
Extract Mode: The air suspension system raises the vehicle almost six inches.
CrabWalk: Rotates all four wheels at the same angle to move the vehicle out of tight spots.
Super Cruise: All Hummer EV models will have Super Cruise, GM’s hands-free driving system.
Automatic Lane Changing Feature: The system can determine when a lane change is optimal and initiate the maneuver.
