Liza Pancho brought her pink Chevy Camaro in for vehicle service at Runde Auto Group today and gave us some of her time as she talked to us for a spell about her car.
Liza once thought she was getting pulled over by a police officer in Dubuque to be given a ticket. Instead, the officer asked if he could take photos of her pink Chevy Camaro.
It’s a vehicle that attracts plenty of attention — a pink Chevy Camaro 2LS Coupe.
“He wanted to get a picture because his daughter likes pink cars,” Liza said.
Liza purchased the Camaro from Runde Chevrolet in white, and then had it painted with a temporary coating called Plasti Dip.
“That’s my favorite color, pink,” she said.
When she was considering buying the vehicle, she asked for opinions from her three children and got an enthusiastic response.
“I asked my son about it and he likes the Camaro because of Bumblebee on ‘Transformers,'” she said. “He was so excited. He wants me to pick him up at school all the time.”
Liza, a Registered Medical Assistant at Kaplan University, enjoys racing the Camaro in AutoCross competitions. The events feature obstacle courses marked by cones. Drivers navigate the course once at a time, racing the clock.
“You meet a lot of people and you see different cars,” she said.
The Dubuque resident was named the 2015 F Street Ladies Class Champion in the Great River Region of the Sports Car Club of America. Runde Chevrolet is proud to have sold a new Camaro to such a talented person.
