GMC Hummer EV Revealed

GMC revealed the all-new, all-electric 2022 GMC Hummer EV, kicking off what the company is calling the Quiet Revolution.

With its signature six-bar grille and boxy front end, the vehicle brings to mind the Hummer of the late ‘90s and early 2000s, but with a modern twist.

The futuristic truck’s bold design houses an extremely capable and nearly silent all-electric propulsion system that provides 1,000 horsepower and 11,500 lb-ft of torque.

Plus, in Watts to Freedom mode, the Hummer is lightning fast – going from 0 to 60 mph in just 3 seconds!

One of the most attention-getting features of the truck is the Crab Walk setting, where all four wheels turn, allowing the truck to drive diagonally to avoid obstacles. Check out what Crab Walk looks like here.

The four-wheel steering also reduces the truck’s turning radius and enhances maneuverability.

The all-new GMC Hummer EV will feature next-generation Super Cruise to allow hands-free driving and automatic lane changes on compatible roads.

The supertruck is powered by Ultium batteries that have an estimated range of 350+ miles. With an 800-volt DC fast-charging up to 350 kilowatts, you can charge the Hummer EV to go nearly 100 miles in just 10 minutes!

The new GMC Hummer EV has impressive ground clearance for off-roading with its 35-inch tires (plus it is 37-inch tire capable). In available Extract Mode, the truck’s Air Ride Suspension is activated, lifting the truck approximately 6 inches!

It has customizable drive modes and up to 18 camera views, including under body forward and rear-facing cameras.

The Hummer EV has an Infinity Roof, transparent sky panels, and a rear drop glass for the ultimate experience of open-air freedom.

Edition 1 MSRPs at about $113,000 and according to NBC News, it sold out within 10 minutes of the reveal video’s release. There are 3,000 others on a waiting list and more customers making reservations for later versions of the Hummer.

A $99,995 version Hummer will be available a year later after Edition 1, followed by $89,995 and $79,995 models in the springs of 2023 and 2024. There is also a Hummer SUV in the works.

GM plans to have at least 20 electric models in showrooms around the world by 2023. The Hummer should arrive at Runde Chevrolet Buick GMC in the fall of 2021.
