Are your Illinois license plates expiring?
All Illinois Secretary of State offices and Driver Services facilities are closed to the public until Dec. 7.
“After careful consideration, we have decided to close all Driver Services facilities until December 7, due to the worsening COVID-19 pandemic,” said White, in a press release. “The health and safety of employees and the public remains paramount and face-to-face transactions potentially increase the further spread of the virus. We have extended expiration dates to assist people during this difficult time.”
While facilities are closed, White is encouraging residents to take advantage of many online services – such as renewing vehicle registration stickers – from the comfort of their own home.
People who conduct online transactions will further help to reduce the number of transactions that will occur at Driver Services facilities once they reopen.
To give you even more options, Runde Chevrolet in East Dubuque can now renew your Illinois license plates between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday by phone or email.
While we are not charging to provide this service, the online portal we use (CVR) does charge a $2.75 processing fee for a license plate renewal.
All you need to have is your current registration, and we can take care of the rest.
If you don’t have your current registration, we can use your renewal notice from the Secretary of State, and we can do an inquiry in the CVR system, which costs an extra $2.85.To request a no-contact Illinois registration renewal, please email edoffice@rundeautogroup.com
