Meet Jacob Voss from East Dubuque

Jacob Voss from East Dubuque recently joined up with Runde Auto Group where he’s been making a great impression on his customers and colleagues. Jacob is a native of this area so he fits right in here at Runde Chevrolet and he’s pretty familiar with the local community. He may be young, but his mind and heart are committed to making his customers have the best car buying experience.

Where are you from?
Born and raised in East Dubuque… Lived there my whole life but moved around a few places within the city. 

How many houses have you lived in?
Probably about 4 or 5.

How old are you?
19, going to be 20 by the end of April.

Do you have any brothers or sisters?
I have 2 younger brothers and an older sister. We’re all within about a year and a half apart. One brother is 17, the other is 16 and my older sister is 21.

Do you guys pick on the youngest brother?
Not anymore because he’s bigger than me now. I’m the runt of the family. 

Is your family into sports?
I like Golf and Baseball. My sister played pretty much every sport. My brothers are getting ready for football right now. Actually both of them are on varsity this year.

Do you live with your mom?
Yes… maybe we should put in big letters: “BUY FROM JACOB SO HE CAN MOVE OUT!”

What do you do around the area?
I have a friend that has land out in LaMotte, IA. We spend a lot of time out there especially during the summer. We’ll go trapshooting, 4-wheeling, bonfires, etc. Otherwise there’s not much to do around the Dubuque area besides go to a movie or go bowling.

Do you like bowling?
Oh yeah, I like bowling.

Are you any good?
I think I’m good but that’s not saying much. I am good… relatively speaking… I just bowl with people that are worse than me.  I average about 130.

Are you participating in any sports right now?
I play on a team in Menomonie, WI playing high-pitch softball.

Any pets?
Yes. I have a lot of pets. We have a little zoo going on. We have two cats because my sister wanted a cat when she was a junior and they had a buy one get one free deal going at the humane society so we picked up the pair. Then she moved out and now they are stuck with me. I actually trained one of the cats to jump up on my shoulder. We call her pirate-kitty, it’s pretty legit.

We got another dog from the humane society, and yet another puppy my brother got with his girlfriend which is a boxer/husky mix. I also have a red-eared slider turtle that I got when I was twelve. If they live through their first two years in captivity they are supposed to live for another 40 or 50. So I’m pretty much going to be taking it to the grave with me.

What’s your favorite restaurant?
Hmm… me personally – Buffalo Wild Wings. But my girlfriend is a sucker for IHOP so we find ourselves going there more. I wear the pants in our relationship.

Favorite dessert?
Coldstone… in general. We go there quite often.

Favorite sports team?
Chicago Bears.

Favorite Musician?
I’m a sucker for Rascal Flatts.

Favorite Movie?
I don’t know, I like them all. I don’t have just one favorite.

If you could go anywhere in the world, where would you go?
I’d go to Vegas. That’s where I’m going on my 21st birthday!

What led you into working at Runde’s in East Dubuque?
I was originally going to school for criminal justice but kept searching for what I wanted to do. I also considered the air force but found out that since I had crohn’s disease I wasn’t eligible.  Everyone always told me that I was pretty personable and I like cars so people encouraged me to try out selling cars. So I found job listing for Runde Chevrolet in East Dubuque, I applied and they hired me.

What would you like to say to potential customers wondering if they should try out Runde’s?
I’m young and I plan on being here for a while. If you’re looking for a new Chevrolet and you ever look again, chances are I’ll be here. There will be no hassle and I’ll make it as fun as possible.
