Buick Takes the Stage and Delivers a Much-Anticipated Buick Encore

Buick EncoreThe new Buick Encore is a vehicle that’s definitely worthy of applause.  The word ‘encore’ is defined as a demand by an audience for an additional performance, usually expressed by applause.

In 2008 General Motors came out with the Buick Enclave and audiences expressed their overwhelming enthusiasm and admiration by buying lots of them.  The Enclave thrilled US buyers with it’s stylish looks, it’s voracious powertrain, its nimble interior design and its ample cargo space.

Now as a reaction to the large demand for another attractive Buick AWD vehicle, GM has come out with an Encore.  As a smaller and more fuel efficient alternative to the Enclave, Buick’s new Encore is currently available at Runde Buick in Platteville and it brings more diversity to the already stellar Buick line-up.

The Encore was on display at the Chicago Auto Show last year and was met with positive reactions from ages three to ninety-three.  It compliments the current Buick family of vehicles very nicely and it also offers a viable alternative choice to potential Buick buyers who need AWD, but don’t necessarily need something as large as the Enclave.

At 202 inches in length, the Buick Enclave is a full-size SUV that seats seven comfortably and features a 3.6L V-6 engine that achieves 24 MPG on the highway.

In comparison, its new younger sibling the Encore measures 168.4″ in length, seats 5 comfortably and features an ECOTEC® Turbo 1.4L Variable Valve Timing DOHC engine that is rated at 33 highway MPG with the FWD version or 30 MPG with the AWD powertrain.

Base prices for this baby Buick range from $24,950 to $28,940 for its four trim levels.  The all-wheel drive option adds $1500 to the price tag; and a fully loaded Buick Encore with AWD, heated leather seats and a sunroof will probably be around $33,000.

Here at Runde Auto Group we really like the look of the new Buick Encore;  the seating is extremely comfortable and it’s fun to drive.  But don’t just take our word for it … here’s what a few of the major media publications had to say about the Encore recently:

  • “The Buick Encore’s impressive driving manners are a powerful endorsement, but this compact crossover’s strongest selling point is actually its value. If you can afford to sacrifice some interior space compared to a Ford Escape, the Encore will reward you with a more opulent interior and more convenience features for a similar price.” — Automobile Magazine
  • “By blending new tech with old philosophy and adding a dash of styling and sportiness, plus a heavy hand of practicality and relative affordability (base prices start just south of 25K), Buick may finally have the recipe to conquer the younger generation of luxury CUV buyers while snaring a fair amount of empty-nesters as well.” — Motor Trend
  • “While making a successful entrance into one of the world’s most hotly contested market segments will be no easy challenge, it appears the new Buick Encore is set to hit the showrooms fairly well prepared to do battle in this realm.” — Kelley Blue Book
  • “At the end of the day, we’re left with a smartly accoutered and serene little shoe of a crossover that offers good daily manners for urban living.” — Autoblog
