Leah Decker – Purchases a Reliable Used Car at Runde’s

Customer who bought a used car at Runde'sLeah Decker and her father, Mike, stopped into the dealership today to pick up a used car at Runde’s for Leah. Fresh out of college and already establishing herself at Jefferson middle school as a teacher, she needed a reliable vehicle in her life. After working with their salesperson, Kaylin Seffrood, they wanted to tell the world how great she and Runde’s were to work with.

What brought you into Runde’s today?
Leah: I just graduated from college and needed a used car.

Did you find us online?
I actually found a different car online but ended up getting a used car at Runde’s Dodge Neon after we came in and went on a test drive.

Do you approve of your daughter’s vehicle, Mike?
Yep, we took it for a spin and it sounded good to me.

Where did you graduate from?
I graduated from the University of Northern Iowa. I got my degree in Education.

Have anything lined up for a job?
Yep, I actually just got a job at Jefferson Middle School in Dubuque.

Are you guys from the are?
Mike: I live South of Dubuque on Highway 52. I’ve lived there since ’94.
Leah: I live in Dubuque.

What do you do sir?
I work as a salesman for Hendricks Feed. Been there for 35 years. I love working and talking with all the farmers in the area.

Do you have any siblings Leah?
I have 3 siblings and 2 nephews. I’m the baby of the family. We’re a pretty close knit bunch.
Mike: I have 2 sons and 2 daughters. All of them turned out great.

Mike: We do a lot of things together. Actually for their birthdays, I invite all of them out for prime rib.  My son Cody’s birthday is Sunday so it’ll be prime rib on Sunday!

What did you think of your salesperson, Kaylin Seffrood?
She was very good. We were totally impressed with her and how she handled things. People need to give credit where credit is due and she deserves the praise.

On a scale of 1-10 how would you rate your experience at Runde’s?
Mike: I have to give you a 9 because nothing is perfect. Well, I’ll give you a 9+ because it was pretty close to perfect.

Any plans for the summer?
Not really, I just like hanging around the kids. Friday nights I coach a softball team, the Kings and Queens. Actually my two daughters, my girlfriend, her two daughters and one of her daughter’s boyfriend all play on the team.

That’s a pretty big family team!
On the first weekend in August in St. Donatus we always play the family softball tournament. All of our family plays on that team.

Are you into any sports?
Leah: Volleyball.
Mike: I do a lot of trapping and deer hunting.

Are you on a volleyball team, Leah?
Not currently. I want to go back to school for a coaching endorsement to teach volleyball.

Mike: All my kids played sports; John played soccer, Cody played football, Kaylin played Band…
Leah: Band isn’t a sport! (everyone laughs)

What did you folks do for the 4th of July?
On the 3rd we went to the Bellevue show. My girlfriend’s daughter actually water skis for a part of the show. After the show we went up to her backyard and made barbecue ribs, pork loin and chicken. Then we saw the fireworks.

Sounds like a perfect 4th.
Yeah, it was really nice.

If you were to win the lottery, what would you do with the money?
Mike: I would make sure that our saleswoman got a big tip! I would help some people out in need … mostly people that have an illness or a sickness. I actually know one of the people that won the jackpot from the big lottery awhile back, he is a really nice person.

Think you’ll be back at Runde’s for future purchases?
Definitely a good possibility! We are going to recommend you to friends and family. Everyone should buy a used car at Runde’s.

Thank you for taking the time to do the interview with me today, we appreciate your business and kind words! Enjoy your new Dodge Neon, Leah!
