The world premiere of the 2021 Ford Bronco was more of a stampede – introducing a whole family of Broncos, including a classic two-door, first-ever four-door, and the smaller Sport model.
The Bronco, which was first introduced in 1966, was America’s first SUV. It’s now back after a long hiatus, and better than ever.
The rugged SUV offers a dizzying array of options – more than 200 factory-backed aftermarket accessories to choose from, a Sasquatch off-road package, and a choice of six trim levels.
The two-door model starts at $29,995, while the four-door model starts at $34,695. Those come with a 2.3L EcoBoost I-4 and a seven-speed Getrag manual transmission, with a projected 270 horsepower and 310 lb-ft of torque.
Manual transmission is only available with the 2.3L, which can also be paired with a 10-speed automatic. There is also an optional 2.7L EcoBoost V-6 with 310 horsepower and 400 lb-ft of torque.
There are six trims to choose from. The First Edition has all the offroad gear and luxury options. Big Bend is right above the base model and upgrades from 30-inch tires to 32-inch tires.
Black Diamond adds skid plates, rock rails, and a locking rear differential. Outer Banks is more luxury, while Wildtrack is more desert with 35-inch tires. Badlands is trail-focused with 33-inch tires, a disconnecting front sway bar, marine-grade vinyl upholstery, and a rubberized floor for easy hosing out.
The Sasquatch off-road package comes standard on Wildtrak and First Edition, but can be added to any trim level (You’ll want to add it!). It comes with 35-inch Goodyear Territory mud-terrain tires, a 4.70 final-drive ratio, locking front and rear Spicer differentials, 17-inch black-painted beadlock-capable wheels, high-clearance suspension and fender flares, and the Bilstein dampers.
The Bronco’s on-board navigation features off-road trail navigation that works even without a cell signal.
The vehicle features available best-in-class 94.75:1 crawl ratio, 11.6-inch ground clearance, maximum 29-degree breakover angle, and 37.2-degree departure angle, plus best-in-class water fording capability of up to 33.5 inches.
With the Ford Bronco, you are just a few easy steps away from the open-air experience. Roof panels can all be removed by one person by unlocking the latches from the interior. First-row roof panels stow away onboard on two-door models.
Also, the Bronco’s class-exclusive frameless doors are easier to remove than those of competitor vehicles. On four-door Bronco models, all four doors can be stored onboard with protective door bags!
Plus, the exclusive cowl-mounted mirrors remain when doors are removed so that you don’t lose any sideview visibility.
The 2021 Ford Bronco will arrive at Runde Ford Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram in Manchester next spring.
