Runde Chevrolet in East Dubuque, IL, and Runde Chevrolet Buick GMC in Platteville, WI, are anxiously awaiting the newest generation of full-size SUVs from Chevrolet. The Chevrolet Tahoe and Suburban, iconic SUVs that offer a perfect combination of class, comfort, and cargo room, will debut a new look in the 2021 model year.

The Tahoe is America’s best-selling full-size SUV, while the Suburban is the longest-running nameplate in automotive history at 85 years.

“There are no vehicles like the 2021 Suburban & Tahoe – which have starred in Hollywood movies, carried military heroes and world leaders, and helped create countless family memories,” said Barry Engle, executive vice president and president, General Motors North America, in a press release. “We’ve taken what people love about these pioneering SUVs and made them even better – adding more room for people and cargo, more advanced technology and an unrivaled driving experience.”

The SUV siblings’ refresh includes more cargo room and leg room, better driving dynamics, 30 (!!) safety and driver convenience features, and more.

On the exterior, the makeover is reminiscent of the all-new Silverado, featuring a similar grille and headlights.

The vehicles continue to be ideal for hauling – whether it is cargo or people, or both! There is 66 percent more cargo room behind the third row for the Tahoe and 19 percent more cargo space behind the first row for the Suburban. Plus, there are 10 additional inches of third-row legroom in the Tahoe!

The 2021 Suburban & Tahoe are powered by V-8 engines and an all-new Duramax turbo-diesel engine, plus a new 10-speed automatic transmission with electronic shift control.

While built on full-size truck architectures, these vehicles have everything an SUV owner could want, including nine camera views, safety features like Automatic Emergency Braking, HD Surround Vision, and a Rear Pedestrian Alert, as well as up to five display screens in total:

  • Standard 10-inch diagonal central color touchscreen, the largest in its segment
  • Available 8-inch diagonal instrument cluster
  • Available 15-inch Head-Up Display, which no competitor offers
  • Available dual 12.6-inch diagonal rear-seat LCD displays

Both the 2021 Suburban & Tahoe will feature an independent rear suspension paired with a longer wheelbase meaning the vehicles ride smoother, while Magnetic Ride Control and first-in-class Air Ride Adaptive Suspension offer load leveling at all four corners of the vehicle, up to four inches.

They will arrive at Runde Auto Group in mid-2020.
