Run4Troops Debuts New Course & Half Marathon

Event supports tri-state military, past , present, & future

Run4Troops is set to take place on June 29, 2019 and Runde Auto Group is proud to once again be a major sponsor of this worthwhile event!

This year, the point-to-point, chip-timed Boston qualifying race, will debut a new out-and-back course and a half marathon! Proceeds from Run4Troops, set for June 29, 2019, directly support tri-state military, past, present, and future.

“Our objective is to give all participants an opportunity for a great experience and raise some money for a great cause,”Run4Troops participant carrying a US flag said race director Connie Hodge.

Over the years, they have dispersed more than $105,000 to local military causes. More than 6,500 runners have participated in the event from 46 states and nine countries!

Proceeds are donated to organizations including the Veteran’s Freedom Center, University of Dubuque ROTC, National Guard, University of Dubuque Veterans Center, American Red Cross Readiness Unit, and more.

You can participate in the 11th annual race as an individual marathoner or half marathoner, or as a relay team. Relay teams can be 2 to 12 members in male, female, and co-ed categories.

There are six checkpoints at varying distances along the course, between 3.4 and 6.7 miles apart. The course’s crushed limestone surface is easy on the knees, and its gently sloping course with plenty of shade and gorgeous views is sure to give you a PR! It is run rain or shine.

Runners at the start of Run4Troops event“Every year, we receive requests to add a half,” Connie said about the addition of a half marathon this year. “It is a very popular distance. You ask and we listen – so now we have a half marathon race and are very excited about the course! We love the Heritage Trail!”

The finish area will include food, beverages, and music at the Heritage Pond Finish Area. There will be a beer tent at the finish line and all participants (21+ years of age – Bring your ID!) will receive a complimentary beverage. Food and beverages will also be available for purchase.
