All-New 2019 Chevrolet Blazer is an SUV with Attitude

Chevrolet is bringing back the much-loved Blazer, but with a dramatically different look.

“The Blazer has attitude,” says John Cafaro, executive director of Global Chevrolet Design, in a press release. “It looks commanding on the road, while fulfilling the promise of versatility at the heart of every Chevy crossover and SUV.”

The five-passenger Blazer is larger than the Equinox and smaller than the Traverse, offering consumers a mid-size choice in Chevrolet SUVs.

Offered in models ranging from sporty RS to upper-level Premier, the vehicle will offer unique design elements on each model to appeal to a variety of drivers.

“The Chevrolet Blazer is more than just good looks,” says Waqar Hashim, Blazer chief engineer, in a press release. “Both the Ecotec 2.5L four-cylinder engine and 3.6L V6 engine are paired to Chevrolet’s nine-speed automatic transmission, providing drivers a great balance between performance and efficiency.”

With the 3.6L V6 engine, max trailering is estimated to be 4,500 pounds.

Available on 3.6L engine models, Hitch Guidance aids in aligning the Blazer’s hitch to a trailer by showing the center line on the rear vision camera. Another available option is Hitch View, which offers a top-down view to help hitch a trailer without a second person to assist.

Inside, the 2019 Blazer features a range of convenience and comfort features. The vehicle offers an electronic-locking glove box for extra storage security. It is locked using the vehicle’s Valet Mode, accessible through the Settings menu.

Its automatic heated steering wheel and automatic heated/ventilated front seats work with Remote Start and/or automatic climate controls to automatically adjust temperature.

Before you get in, you can use the key fob to activate comfort-open windows, which allows all windows to roll down to let heat escape before occupants enter the vehicle.

Wireless charging and six USB ports are available, and so is a panoramic dual-pane power sunroof. The vehicle offers cargo space of up to 64.2 cubic feet with the second row seats folded flat.
