High & Outside Baseball Drama with Special Guests Announced as Julien Dubuque International Film Festival Closing Film

Runde Auto Group is proud to be a driving force behind the Julien Dubuque International Film Festival. The 2018 festival is set for April 26-29 in downtown Dubuque. All films are free on Runde Free Day, Thursday, April 26. See you at the fest!

A red carpet screening of the film High & Outside: A Baseball Noir, starring Ernie Hudson, Phil Donlon, and Geoffrey Lewis will close the seventh annual Julien Dubuque International Film Festival.

High & Outside Movie PosterThe event will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Sunday, April 29, at Phoenix Theatres, 555 John F. Kennedy Rd. Tickets are $10 per person.

High & Outside director Evald Johnson and lead actor Phil Donlon will be in attendance to discuss the film and answer audience questions following the screening.

“Events like this are what make film festivals such a great experience – you get a chance to watch a film and then talk to the people who played a part in making it,” said Susan Gorrell, executive director of the Julien Dubuque International Film Festival.

High & Outside: A Baseball Noir follows Phil Harding (played by Donlon), a minor league baseball player who is desperately trying to keep his big league dreams alive. The 98-minute sports drama was an official selection of the Austin Film Festival and nominated for Best Film and Best

Screenplay at the Raindance Film Festival. It was Geoffrey’s Lewis’ last film before he passed away.

“This film is an emotional take on baseball and life, and I think its themes are relate-able for many people,” Gorrell said.

The Julien Dubuque International Film Festival, April 26-29 in downtown Dubuque, will feature about 115 documentaries, features, and shorts that were selected from more than 700 submissions from over 40 countries. Filmmakers will be in attendance from all over the United States and countries including Czech Republic, Germany, France, Mexico, Australia, and more.
