The first all-new 2018 Chevrolet Equinox has rolled onto the Runde Chevrolet lot!

The redesigned vehicle features a new look, with sleeker headlights and chrome trim on all models, as well as improved efficiency and technology.  Dubuque Chevrolet customers are really going to like this new body style.

“Customers who previewed the vehicle early on had a strong emotional response to the sleek and sophisticated exterior design,” said John Cafaro, executive director of General Motors Design, in a press release. “Those same themes are carried through to the interior, making the space beautifully intuitive.”

The 2018 Equinox gives you plenty of choices for performance, efficiency, and capability, with a choice between three engines: 1.5L turbo, 2.0L turbo — matched with GM’s new nine-speed automatic transmission — or a 1.6L turbo-diesel.

It is the first turbo-diesel in the compact SUV segment in North America.

The vehicle is about 400 pounds lighter than the previous model — a 10 percent weight reduction — and gets an impressive GM-estimated 40 MPG highway (for the 1.6L turbo-diesel model)!

It also features a switchable AWD system so you can choose FWD or AWD depending upon road conditions. It simply disconnects from the rear axle when not needed.

There is more cargo space in the new Equinox — 63.5 cubic feet — thanks to the 60/40 split fold flat seats. It also has an available hands-free gesture liftgate!

Safety is a priority in the 2018 Equinox. Available safety features include:

• Lane keep assist with lane departure warning

• Rear Vision Camera
• Rear Cross Traffic Alert
• Rear Park Assist
• Side Blind Zone Alert
• Lane Change Alert

Also available is Surround Vision, which gives you a birds-eye view of your vehicle, and available direction seat-bottom vibrations instead of the traditional audible chimes.

The 2018 Chevrolet Equinox is tech-savvy, pairing well with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and the myChevrolet app. It has available 4G LTE Wi-Fi and available Teen Driver Technology.

When you are driving at night, Intellibeam High Beam Assist automatically switches on your high beams when driving conditions become too dark, and then reverts back to low beams when it detects an approaching vehicle.
