Happy Retirement to Gary Reiter!

Gary Reiter and his wife on his retirement day

Runde PreDriven in Hazel Green hosted a goodbye gathering for Reconditioning Manager Gary Reiter today.

Today was Gary’s last day of work after working at Runde PreDriven for 10 years! His daughter going away giftarranged for him to be dropped off in a limo this morning so he could arrive for his last day in style.

“When it showed up, I thought, ‘They are going to think I am crazy!'” Gary said.  But if there’s anyone who truly deserved to be treated like this, it’s Gary.  For as long as we’ve known him, he’s been the epitome of “hard work”.   He always came to work with a smile on his face and a selfless attitude in his heart … even on the bad days.  When you get the opportunity to work with someone like that, it fosters a team mentality and that, in turn, makes the work days go by faster.

He said he will miss all the people working here after he retires (and they will miss him), but he’s looking forward to retirement. He and Sue are planning a trip to New Orleans.

Nate Elder aka "the New Gary Reiter"

Nate Elder

Nate Elder, who has worked at Runde’s for 16 years, will be taking over the position of Manager of the Reconditioning Department.  We’ll just call him “The New Gary Reiter”.

Gary leaves some big shoes to fill.

“I learned all of this in a 10-year period, a lot of it didn’t exist when I started,” Gary said. “So Nate will have to absorb 10 years worth of information and processes in a short period of time.”

There are a lot of used cars near Dubuque and Gary’s team has probably detailed about half of them.

Enjoy your retirement and thank you for all of your hard work, Gary Reiter!
