Introducing the New GMC Acadia at Runde Auto Group!

You might not recognize the new GMC Acadia!  The re-designed Acadia offers drivers and passengers a fresh look with plenty of new features.

“The new Acadia captures a greater feeling of refinement, in everything from the responsive feeling behind the wheel to the way passengers interact with its intuitive features,” said Rick Spina, executive chief engineer for compact and crossover SUVs at General Motors, in a press release. “It’s a vehicle that offers the functionality Acadia is known for, while delivering big advantages and balance to customers’ everyday lives.”

The midsize crossover is a convenient size between the compact Terrain and the full-size Yukon. The new Acadia is 700 pounds lighter and offers 28 mpg highway/22 mpg city (on 2.5L engine with FWD). You can choose from three models: Acadia, Acadia All-Terrain, or Acadia Denali.

Available features, depending upon model, include:

• New Front Pedestrian Braking (Alerts the driver if a collision with a pedestrian directly ahead is imminent and he/she has not already applied the brakes. It can automatically apply the brakes to help reduce the collision’s severity or avoid the collision.)
• New Low Speed Forward Automatic Braking (standard on SLT-2 and Denali) (Automatically applies the brakes to help reduce a collision’s severity if the vehicle is traveling at a low speed and the system detects that a front-end collision situation is imminent)
• New Forward Automatic Braking (available on Denali)
• New Following Distance Indicator (Displays following time in seconds to a vehicle you are following)
• New IntelliBeam automatic headlamp high-beam control (automatically turns the vehicle’s high-beam headlamps on and off according to surrounding traffic conditions)
• New Surround Vision camera system
• New Safety Alert Seat
• Forward Collision Alert
• Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning
• Lane Change Alert with Side Blind Zone Alert
• Front and Rear Parking Assist

The 50/50 split third row seat folds flat, so when the second and third row are folded, there is 79 cubic feet of cargo room.

It is the small details that make the New GMC Acadia stand out. The rear of the center console  has a drawer that can be used by passengers to store electronic devices or small toys. All three rows offer USB charge ports and the vehicle supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

The vehicle comes with a standard rear seat alert that can remind drivers when an item may have been left in a second or third row seat.

There is also an available Tow Vision Trailering system to make hitching easier using a rear vision camera and dynamic guidelines.
