“The funds go to support the mission of empowering individuals with intellectual disabilities to achieve their highest quality of life,” Haas said. “This year, in order to work toward that mission, the funds will be used to purchase vans to transport the individuals that receive services from the agency.”

There are 68 teams participating (including Team Resources Unite) and 26 businesses sponsoring the event. Spectators are welcome at the event, which starts at 5 p.m.

“We always encourage people to come watch the silly games, have some refreshments, and cheer on their favorite teams,” Haas said. “There is no admission charge, but there are no carry-ins.”  person pushing another person on a tricycle

Haas said the activities, which will include team-building, brain-teasing, and physical games, are kept a secret until the night of the games.

“We wouldn’t want anyone to have an advantage,” Haas said. “With an event like this that has been going on for 14 years, teams might find some old favorites, but they should also be prepared for some brand new ones.”

This year’s fundraising goal is $28,000.

That is the most important part.”

The event’s rain date is Thursday, June 25.
