It’s a good thing it was a sunny day last week when Bob and Bonnie Jordan stopped by Runde Chevrolet to pick up their new 2014 Corvette Stingray.

“We only drive these cars in nice weather,” Bonnie said. “They never get wet environmentally.”

The vehicle is the latest addition to their already impressive car collection, which includes a 2003 Ford Thunderbird Convertible, a 2008 Challenger SRT8, a 2013 Mustang Boss 302, a 2013 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 Convertible and a 2014 Corvette Z51 Convertible.

The couple, of Sleepy Hollow, IL, drove nearly three hours for their first visit to Runde Chevrolet.

Bob came upon Runde’s from Cars.com, while he was searching for a 2014 Corvette Stingray Convertible Premiere Edition. With only 550 of the numbered vehicles in existence, he wanted to find the lowest numbered car in the area.

They drove off our lot in #78.

“The first time I saw the Stingray Vette, we went to visit friends in Arizona,” Bonnie said. “We went to Nascar and in the lot they had cars and that was one of them. It was the coupe, it was blue and it was gorgeous.”

The couple was helped by salesman Jake Meyer.

“He did an excellent job,” Bob said. “It’s been very warm. Everyone here has been friendly, efficient. Jake gave us a little gift bag with all kinds of (Runde) goodies in it.”

Bob and Bonnie said that while they don’t often come over this way, one of their three children attended the University of Dubuque, so they are familiar with the Dubuque area.

They are excited to do some joyriding in their new Rock Green Corvette – going out to dinner and visiting friends, and maybe visiting Lake Geneva.

The two joke about their vehicle collecting hobby. After Bob said he “needed” the vehicle, he noted it might be more of a want.

Bonnie laughed and replied: “Step away from the cars.”

Thanks to Bob and Bonnie for spending some time with us to be interviewed for the Runde Auto Group Blog.  We know they were excited to get going in their new Corvette so we really appreciate them giving us a few minutes of their time.
