We all have our own dreams of owning some pretty nice, difficult to afford, things like the 2014 Impala. Luxury cars fit the bill in some peoples’ minds as an “Ok maybe someday” type of purchase. Folks, “luxury” is just a word that defines a certain level of class. Unfortunately for that class, the New Impala doesn’t restrict itself or abide by these discriminating words.
With enough time for consumers to try out the new 2014 Impala, that awesome vehicle you might “someday” own, might be sometime a whole lot sooner than you might have thought. Because the Impala, although not technically a “luxury” vehicle, is beating vehicles in the “luxury” class according to consumer reports.
“Impala is competitive with cars that cost $20,000 more, including the Audi A6 and Lexus LS460L, as well as the recently reviewed Acura RLX and Jaguar XF,” the magazine writes in an announcement.
Vehicles from Jaguar and Lexus, which are regarded as “luxury” vehicles, are being outclassed by the underdog Impala in scores across the board: comfy ride, agile handling, spacious cabin, great acceleration, big trunk, fit and finish were all huge plus points on the Impala.
“The Impala’s performance is one more indicator of an emerging domestic renaissance,” says Jake Fisher, director of Consumer Reports automotive testing, in a statement. “We’ve seen a number of redesigned American models—including the Chrysler 300, Ford Escape and Fusion, and Jeep Grand Cherokee— deliver world-class performance in our tests.”
The 2014 Impala got a score that I would have loved to show off to my parents come report card time: 95/100 – almost perfect! Only two other vehicles have ever achieved a score so high from the well-regarded magazine.
The Chevy Impala is a testament that disproves the common mentality that the more you spend the better quality you receive. A vehicle that has proven itself better than almost all luxury vehicles out there at a drastically lower price? Talk about a no-brainer.
