Runde Auto Group is excited to announce that we have acquired a handful of the new and improved 2014 Chevy Silverados. With dramatic changes to the body style and interior on the new 2014 Chevy Silverado, it is now viewed as the truck of the future. Chevy has kept many of the loved featured from previous versions, but also integrated new and more modern technology to make it a perfect truck for the modern age.
In our short experience with this marveled truck, we have come to relish the modern body design on the 2014 Silverado. It provides a newly designed grill, which also serves its purpose of more efficient cooling in the engine compartment. The body has a more aerodynamic and boxed-up look, creating a tough truck that is more efficient, quieter, and up-to-date. There is now a “Cornerstep” feature on the rear-bumper, which acts as a step-ladder to help assist a person attempting to get into the rear box. A torsion spring tailgate is another feature on the new Silverado, which requires less effort and helps control the (what used to be) hard opening of the box. The Silverado also boasts projector beam headlights for better visibility during the post-dusk hours.
The interior of the 2014 Silverado is where the most striking changes have taken place. There are many new or updated features that Chevy worked on in order to keep up with the modern ways. These featured include:
- Leather interior that is more durable, easy to clean, and higher comfort
- Heated & cooled seats
- New 8-inch display screen
- Front and rear park assist
- Multiple USB ports, along with 12-volt and 110-volt power outlets
- Bose audio system
- More space in back seat
- Automatic-opening back window
Unlike the exterior and interior, the engine design on 2014 Silverado has remained very similar to previous versions. There are three different engines that will be used in the new Silverado:
- 4.3L, V6, Ecotec3: More powerful with better fuel efficiency
- 5.3L, V8, Ecotec3: Just like 4.3L, this engine is more powerful and has better fuel efficiency than previous version
- 6.2L, V8, Ecotec3: Expected to be most powerful light-duty pickup engine
The new engines are designed to produce better horsepower, torque, and fuel efficiency than previous versions with thanks to Direct Injection, Variable Valve Timing and Active Fuel Management technology. These Silverados also include the improved Auto Grade Braking feature, which downshifts and slows the vehicle on downgrades, helping maintain vehicle speed and reduces the drivers need to use brakes.
In a change from previous versions, the 2014 Chevy Silverado now uses electric power steering instead of hydraulic power steering, making it easier to turn the wheel in tight spaces and stiffens the when going at high speeds. The Silverado has kept the mean, truck-like look on the exterior, while still making it more modern and efficient. The looks you will get while driving down the road in this sharp looking vehicle will be priceless.
Not only does the exterior pass the eye test, but the interior is a whole new experience. In a world that strives on technology, Chevy has done a fabulous job of fulfilling those needs. It seems as if the driver can do any task at just the simple push of a button. The leather seats will make you want to sleep in your truck instead of your own bed (not advised while driving), and you can listen to the music of your choice with the Bose high-quality sound system.
Overall, the 2014 Chevy Silverado is a must buy for truck lovers. It’s the perfect mix of a modern vehicle and a rough, down-and-dirty truck. Come to our Chevy dealership in East Dubuque, IL to check out the truck of the future–the 2014 Chevy Silverado. We promise you won’t be disappointed.
