Bob and Tina Rementer from South Beloit, Illinois absolutely loved their first truck purchase from Runde Auto Group and they really liked their salesman! Like the relationship they have for each other, the Rementer’s now have a strong and trusting relationship with Runde’s!
Are you guys from the area?
No, we’re from South Beloit, IL About 2 hours away.
What brought you to Runde’s?
I was working in town in Dubuque at the waste water plant and I asked some of the local guys where they went to get trucks. They all said “well, Runde’s”. I’ve been looking for a used truck for a while now but when I came here I was amazed by the selection. I was used to dealers in South Beloit having like 6 vehicles so I was blown away.
Did you look online at the Runde website first?
I didn’t… I came here and looked around the lot and met Dave who suggested for us to look online. I then went back and looked online where we found the truck we ended up getting.
What did you end up getting?
2011 Silverado 1500 Extended cab.
What will the vehicle be used for?
It’s going to be a personal vehicle. Mostly for hauling my boat, hunting and will probably be a garage baby in the winter time.
What did you think of your salesman, Dave “Soupy” Smith?
Dave was great to work with. He asked what we would want in a vehicle and he found it for us. He wasn’t pushy, he was very easygoing. We had a great experience and we were very impressed with everything.
On a scale of 1-10 what would you give your experience?
I’d say a 10.
Do you guys like to hunt a lot?
Yes. And we have a fishing boat. Each year we alternate going to Canada and Minnesota to fish. The boat will have more miles on it than the truck will!
Do you fish as well, Tina?
I love to fish.
What do you like to fish for?
Walleyes mostly and pan fish. We catch to eat most of the time.
Any kids?
Yes, two girls. Both in college and both will graduate in December.
Do they have any plans for after college?
One’s going to be a school teacher and the other wants to go into public relations.
What do you guys like to do around the South Beloit area?
Mostly get together with family and play cards. We have a big patio that we all like to sit around and have a few cocktails.
Have a big family for these get-togethers?
I have 7 brothers and sisters. He has 1 sister.
She has you beat by quite a bit, Bob.
Bob: Ha, yeah. Some of her brothers and sisters are old enough to be my Mom and Dad!
How long have you two been together?
Coming up on 29 years.
Do you remember your first date together?
Bob: Yeah, actually it wasn’t really a date but I was sitting by a dart board at a bar and she was playing darts with her sister. But she missed the dart board and hit me in the head with the dart! Good thing it was a plastic dart!
Tina: I apologized to him and I believe he bought me a drink and I then my sister gave him my phone number, because I know I didn’t. A year later we were married.
Bob: Yep, two babies and a lifetime later, we’re sitting here with you.
Do you guys like to go on vacations?
Our whole family tries to make it once a year to Ely, MN to go hiking, canoeing, etc. We all stay in a resort although most of the time a lot of people plan to go but only a few show up!
If you guys could go anywhere in the world where would you go?
I don’t know if we’d leave the United States. We’d like to go see Mount Rushmore.
What do you do for a living?
Bob: I’m a pipe fitter by trade. I’ve been in Dubuque helping out for the last 6 weeks or so. We actually go to Dubuque to gamble at the Diamond Jo Casino.
If you were to win the lottery, what would you do with the money?
We’d take care of the whole family and friends. It’s no fun to have money all to yourself.
Will you be back for future purchases?
Yes. When we need a new vehicle we’ll be back.
What do you plan to do with the rest of your day?
I’m done with my work in Dubuque so I’ll take everything back to Beloit and unpack.
Thanks a lot guys, enjoy the new truck and have a safe trip back to South Beloit!
