Bird Watching on the Eagle Cam at Runde Chevrolet in East Dubuque

I was walking past a computer here at Runde Chevrolet in East Dubuque the other day and saw something that really caught my eye.  The computer screen was displaying a live feed of an eagle in a nest.  I was a bit perplexed.  We’re a car and truck dealer and here is a video of a bird on a screen so of course I had to ask the people around that monitor, “What’s up with the bird?”  This was met with a response from my coworker who simply said, “mmm, Eagle Cam,” as he was munching on some crispy carrots during his lunch hour.

You’ve “seen” them everywhere; The Seal of the President of the United States, on the back of coins and about 20 of them are flashed on the Steven Colbert Show’s introduction video on Comedy Central. The American Bald Eagle is the most advertised and recognized bird in America, and for good reason. Very-frequently you see them in the media, semi-frequently you will see them in the air, rarely will you see one close-up and very-rarely would you ever have the chance to see one lay eggs and care for them… until now.

As of March 4th the mother eagle has laid three eggs. They are expected to hatch in early April. This is a great opportunity to see the Bald Eagles, live, for a long period of time and it’s all happening in the Decorah, Iowa! Just another great thing the Tri-States have given us access to.  If you haven’t done so yet, check out the Eagle Cam … it’s well worth it.
