Steven and Diane Troester – Purchase 4-Wheel-Drive Truck from Runde’s

Steven Troester and his wife Diane of Dubuque, IA came into Runde’s to pick up their new 4-wheel-drive truck. Just before they took off in their new rig, they gave me a chance to interview them.  Here’s what they had to say:

What led you to Runde’s?
Our friends told us about the good service and deals on used cars they got from Runde’s so we thought we’d give it a try.

What did you end up with?
Exactly what I wanted – a  4-wheel-drive truck – Dave Smith found all of that in the Colorado I picked up today.

If you were to rank your experience with Runde’s on a scale of 1-10 what would you give it?
Probably a nine. No problems, everyone was really friendly and honest.

And your salesperson, Dave Smith, what would you give him on a 1-10 Scale?
A nine as well (I don’t give anything a 10, nothing is perfect). He was really helpful and told me what would work as far as the payments I wanted and the particulars I needed in the vehicle.

What do you guys like to do around the area?
We like to go out. We’ll take a once a month trip usually and that’s why I wanted an extended cab – so if we have luggage, we can put it behind the seats and still have room.

How long have you two been together?
It’ll be 29 years that we’ve been married.

Do you have any kids?
We have one son, Sean.

Where do you work?
Steve: I work at John Deere.
Diane: I work at Wal-Mart.

Do you have a favorite restaurant?
Mainly Mexican type of restaurants. We like Fiesta Cancun and Los Azteca’s – good service there.

Where do you like to go on vacations?
Lately we’ve been going down to Florida, we usually stay about a week.

If you could go one place, regardless of cost or anything like that, where would you go?
Maybe the Bahama’s or someplace like that on an island.

Do you remember your first date?
Diane: Yeah, I know… I want to see if he remembers…
Steven: Uhh… I think it was at a roller-skating ring.
Diane: No it wasn’t dear…

Uh-Oh…
Steven: Oh! It was at a wrestling match where she stole the keys to my Mustang.
Diane: Yes, that was it.

Nice save Steve… Do you guys have any pets?
We have two farm cats.

Name one thing you couldn’t stand to live without?
Steven: Umm, I’d probably say the radio. *Diane is smirking and has a confused expression on her face*
Were you not expecting that answer Diane?
No, I wasn’t, actually.
What do you think he can’t live without?
Actually I was thinking he doesn’t need anything.
And what can’t you live without Diane?
Family.

So now that you have a truck are you going to be doing any hauling?
I have a little utility trailer that we’ll pull with the truck and where we live –our back ally doesn’t get plowed too often and is usually hard to get out of … that’s why I wanted the 4×4.

If you were to win the lottery, what would you do with the money?
I’d probably give some to family and charity. Then we’d probably improve our lives a little bit.
