Misty Rosebrock and her fiance, Serafin Gonzalez came all the way from Ohio to pick up the Dodge Magnum they would later drive home in and they almost took a detour to Luigi’s Pizza in Dubuque to satisfy their hunger pangs. This young couple was happy to be at Runde PreDriven after such a long trip and was even more pleased about the service they received and the vehicle they picked out. They were nice enough to share their experience at Runde’s and a bit about their lives to me before they took the long road home in their new vehicle.
It’s a Spanish name. I was named after the Angel Seraphim.
Are you guys married?
No, we are engaged, the wedding is next fall and we have a baby on the way.
Where are you from?
We are from Antwerp, Ohio.
Holy cow, that’s quite the trip! Did you come just to get the vehicle or did you have other business here?
Yea, we came just to see the Dodge Magnum we saw on AutoTrader.com. We have been looking for a Magnum for a while and we found the one here was a way better deal than anything we found near Ohio. It was well worth the seven hour drive.
Dave Smith helped you out with the deal, what did you think of Dave?
He was great, really nice guy. He had everything ready and cleaned up for us so we could take it on a test drive as soon as we got there. We’d give him a 10.
On a scale of 1-10, how would you rate your experience at Runde’s?
I’d say a 10, they did everything they should have to make it a great experience.
What’s your favorite movie?
Serafin: Gladiator.
Misty: Anything Mark Wahlberg. Invincible, The Departed… they are all great.
Did you guys check out that new Inception movie in theaters?
No, not yet.
I would highly recommend it, makes you think quite a bit.
What’s the last theater movie you went to?
Clash of the Titans – we like those kind of movies – “the Gladiator crushes the Titan” kind of theme.
What kind of music do you like?
Serafin: I like rock like Led Zeppelin and Tom Petty.
Misty: Country!
How did you two meet?
Misty: We’ve been dating for four-and-a-half years. Our first date was at my little brothers track meet then we went to Olive Garden. We got engaged last year in July at Yosemite National Park in California while we were there on vacation. We plan to get married next October.
How far along are you Misty?
Misty: I’m 33 weeks in. I have about 7 weeks left. We know it’s a boy and that’s why we wanted the Magnum because its got good truck space for a stroller but it’s still sporty enough to be cool for Dad.
Serafin: I’m just glad I don’t have to drive a minivan…
If there’s one place you could go, where would it be?
Probably Italy, somewhere overseas.
If you were to win the lottery what would you do with the money?
Pay off our college, then our kids college, after that we’d get ourselves a new house, a pony, and a nice Jeep Sierra all chromed out.
Misty: He said that if he gets his vehicle I can get my pony.
And we just bought a house! It’s strange how everything just comes at once.
Congratulations on… well everything! What do you guys do for a living in Ohio?
Serafin: I’m a supervisor.
Misty: I’m a stylist at a salon. That’s how we met – he came in, got his hair cut and never stopped coming back.
What’s one invention you can’t live without?
Probably Craigslist. We are a little addicted to Craigslist – it’s really nice to find stuff cheap especially since we just bought a house and need appliances and that kind of stuff.
You guys sports fans at all?
Serafin: Yes! I like the Texas Longhorns and the Tennessee Titans.
What kind of hobbies do you guys have?
We like to work outside in the yard and keep it looking nice.
Are you guys going straight home after this?
We might stop over to the Mississippi River Center area and check that out. We might also get something to eat before we head back. Speaking of that, I saw the Pizza Baby video on your website with that GIANT Luigi’s Pizza in Dubuque! That looks awesome!
Oh Luigi’s? Yeah, that’s actually on your way to the River Center, they got some BIG pizza, it’s around $30.
$30 for that huge Luigi’s Pizza in Dubuque!? It might be a bit much for the two of us, I don’t even know if it’ll fit in the Magnum but I was amazed by that!
Well if your in the mood for some Mexican there’s Los Azteca’s and Salsa’s, for Italian there’s Mario’s or if you want a big juicy steak you can try out the Three Mile House close to here in Hazel Green.
That Italian place sounds good, we might try that out, thanks!
Wherever you go, enjoy yourselves a bit before that 7 hour drive. At least it will seem like a shorter trip thanks to your sweet new ride! Thank you both for coming in giving us some of your time!
Pizza, Baby.
**PLEASE NOTE** Shortly after this interview Runde’s found out that Luigi’s Pizza in Dubuque has, unfortunately, been closed down.
