Before he zoomed off in his new vehicle, I got a chance to get to know Joe Hubanks a little. From the Dubuque area, Joe works at Lacoma Golf Course. Read ahead to see how Runde’s made him a free man…
What brought you into Runde’s today?
Basically, my car was starting to bite the dust and I wanted to get something new from a dealership. Instead of going out on the street or looking in the paper, I figured it would be more reliable to buy from a dealer so I looked at the Runde website. I knew some people here and heard good things about Runde’s so I decided to bring my business here.
What vehicle did you end up buying?
I got a Suzuki Forenza sedan.
Nice, I always liked those, great car at an amazing price.
Yea, actually it was a really cool and convenient experience because the car was up at your Manchester store and they transported it down here REALLY quick so that I could see it.
What made you go with the Suzuki?
Well, I picked out about 5 different vehicles from your website to try out and by the time I could make it down a few of them were sold, but I really wanted to try the Suzuki because it stuck out in my mind.
If you were to give Runde’s a score, on a scale of 1-10, with 10 being the highest, what would you give it?
It was pretty close to perfect. I’d give it a 9.5
What was your favorite part about the whole transaction?
I’d say the people. I talked to about 5 different guys up here and all of them were very honest and nice. None of them led you on or beat around the bush. Very straightforward and helpful.
What do you plan to do with the car?
You know… just go wherever I want to go. Before, if I wanted to go to a concert in Chicago or go out of town for a weekend, I really couldn’t because my old car was far from reliable. Now that I have the Suzuki I am free to go out when I want and know that my vehicle won’t die on me.
So, Runde’s gave you your freedom?
Actually… yes. They really did. Runde’s made me a free man.
What do you like to do around the area?
I like to golf a lot, I go fishing, hang out and drink (I don’t drive my car while doing that last part). I’m going to school next fall, so that will take up my time.
Are you married or seeing anyone?
No… no, I got nothin’.
Well, consider this a free ad spot for you to get some attention from the ladies.
Yes. Put that on the website please.
Do you have any pets?
Yea, I got a cat.
What kind is it?
A Gray one? I don’t know, some mix.
What is the place you like the best in the Tri-States?
I’d probably say the place I work – Lacoma Golf Course. I just like how everyone goes there for a good time, no one is really grumpy – they just want to have fun.
Do you have a favorite movie?
What About Bob with Bill Murray.
Favorite restaurant?
Vinny Vanucchi’s Italian restaurant in Galena, IL.
What kind of music do you like?
Oldies. 60’s, 70’s, 80s – stuff like Led Zeppelin and Van Morrison, which is actually the cd I took out of my old car before I traded it in.
Is that the first cd that will go into the Suzuki?
Yep.
If you were to win the lottery, what would you do with the money?
I’d buy Lacoma Golf Course. Do some renovations here and there.
What’s one invention you couldn’t live without?
Probably a car.
Would you recommend Runde’s to other people?
Yes, I would. Without a doubt I would.
Thank you for your time Joe, enjoy the Suzuki.
