Rodney and Sherry Schroeder – The Schroeder Bunch

Rodney and Sherry Schroeder

Rodney and Sherry Schroeder

I recently had the chance to sit down with Rodney and Sherry Schroeder after they purchased a vehicle from our Chevrolet dealership.

What did you guys do here today?
We just purchased a Chevy Trailblazer.

What led you to get that vehicle?
Well, we had a van and we were looking for a seven-passenger vehicle — something different than a van.

Do you have a big family?
Well, we have three kids.

How old are your kids and what do they do?
They are twelve, eleven and six and all of them are going to school. And what they do is drive us nuts (laughs).

Are they excited for the new vehicle?
Ohhhh yes.

So what are you planning to do with the vehicle?
Take the kids to the various sports activities, mostly for general use.

Who was your salesperson today?
Greg Runde.

What did you think of Greg?
Awesome, sharp, super.

How was your experience at Runde’s in general?
Very nice place, it’s SO clean! It really couldn’t have been better, very smooth and easy.

What would you rank Runde’s on a scale of 1-10?
10 being the highest???

Yep.
10.

Sweet.

How long have the two of you been married?
20 years.

Do you remember the first date?
Sherry: Actually he was dating a friend of mine and she broke his heart, so I had to help him out.

So you were the support?
Sherry: Mhmm.

And you were thankful.
Rodney: Yep.

What do you guys like to do around the area?
We mostly do everything for the kids. We go to a lot of family activities and go camping every once in awhile.
Rodney: I like to golf.

If you could compare your family to a sitcom family which one would you most closely resemble?
Probably the Brady Bunch, but definitely not as structured.

I heard you are related to one of our employees?
Yea, I’m the favorite sister of your accountant, Sue Hanger.

Oh! Yeah, Sue (Runde Chevrolet’s accountant) is really nice.  I definitely see the resemblance.

Have any pets?
Our neighbor’s dog, Skamp, is kind of our pet – he’s a Jack-Russell Rat Terrier.

Is that sort of like a Schulte?
???? …Do you mean a Sheltie?

I’m not sure what I was thinking. What is your favorite place in the area?
We spend a lot of time at home and with family. We go out to ballparks for the kids games — it’s fun.

Do you have a favorite movie?
Sherry: Officer and a Gentleman.

Rodney: Definitely not that… maybe The Fast and the Furious.

Sherry: What’s your favorite movie?
Probably The Matrix or Kids Return — I also like a good chick flick now and then — especially when I’m feeling vulnerable … but hey, I’m interviewing you here…

What kind of music do you like?
Sherry: I like country.
Rodney: Country or classic rock.

Do you have a favorite artist?
Toby Keith, Taylor Swift and Rascal Flatts.

What’s the first CD you’ll put in your new car?
It’ll probably one of the kids’ CD’s like Hannah Montana or something like that, otherwise Rascal Flatts.

Do you go on vacation?
We go camping a bit; we are going to Colorado this summer and Florida next year. We pretty much take a trip every year.

If you were to win the lottery what would you do with the money?
Rodney: Well, I’d definitely make a donation to my interviewer, of course.

Good answer.
Sherry: Nah, we’d pay off all our bills… how much am I winning here, exactly?

Oh, let’s say, exactly, $30 million.
Well then, I’d travel and give it to my family.

What’s your favorite part of the day?
We’re more of evening people. 9-10 o-clock at night is probably the best part.

Do you guys like to do lots of activities as a family?
Yep, we all like bike riding, going to movies, etc.

Do you have a favorite restaurant?
Houlihans.
The Three Mile House.

Well, I’m done with all my questions here… do you have anything to add?
Everything was great. You need a raise!

Rodney and Sherry Schroeder are definitely my kind of people.  Enjoy your new Trailblazer.
