Where’s the best place to buy a family car in the Dubuque area? If you said Runde Auto Group, then you’d be in the same boat as the Brosnahan’s.
Every once in awhile you meet someone that can pick you up and make the rest of the day great. The Brosnahan family is consists of these kind of people. Needless to say, they were a joy to interview and an even greater joy to have as a customer.
What led you to Runde’s today?
Originally my husband, Michael, was shopping for used vehicles in Dubuque and came in to look at some trucks. But we thought about it and we have a Chevy Tahoe that is coming up on its lease and we also have a son who just turned 16 — so we decided to just get a family car.
Oh, did your husband buy a vehicle as well?
Yea, he bought a Chevy Trailblazer and I got a Honda Accord … nice family car.
Is your husband here today?
No, he picked up his truck earlier then went on a golf outing.
So how was the experience you had here?
It’s been great. Everyone here has been very nice and Al Kloft [her salesman] was great. Everything seemed very easy to get done. All I had to do was come in and sign paper work. They cleaned up the vehicles and they look great.
On a scale of 1-10 what would you give it?
Oh, definitely a TEN. I have no complaints.
You said you were married, how long have you been married?
12 years, just recently. I guess we could consider these our anniversary presents.
How many kids?
Three.
Yep, all “these” ha ha.
How old is the smallest one?
3 years, her name is Maddie. The next one up is 9 – her name is Lauren.
And you are? (Talking to the son sitting next to Melesia – the mother)
I’m Alex, 16. I go to Hempstead High School.
Have any pets?
Yep, we have one dog – a Schnoodle named Lucie. She’s 3-years-old
Alex: She counts as a pet (pointing at Maddie)
Melesia: Oh shush.
So what do you guys do for fun?
Alex: Uh, we went camping once…
Melesia: Yea, we all have our own kind of thing. Dad’s is golf, I run, Alex plays guitar, Lauren is in gymnastics…
Alex: Yea and Maddie just runs around the house terrorizing things.
Melesia: We go out to movies as a family too… we just saw Monsters vs. Aliens.
So what’s your favorite place in the area?
Alex: *whispering* Happy Joes.
Melesia: The movie theater is really neat. I go for the popcorn; everyone else goes for the movie.
Have a favorite actor or actress?
(Lauren runs up to the table) Pink!
Melesia: Yea we all like Pink…
Alex: She’s ok…
If you could compare your family to any sitcom family what would it be?
Alex: They used to call me cousin “It” so I’d have to say the Adams Family.
Lauren: Yea, you looked like a girl when you had your hair longer.
Alex: No I didn’t…
What one invention could your family not live without?
Melesia: The computer, the internet.
Lauren: Nuh-uh! Cars.
Alex: Yep. Without cars would be brutal.
Do you live in the area?
Yea, we live in Dubuque. Near Hempstead, actually.
What does your husband do for a living?
He’s a DCI agent- Criminal investigation.
We’ll just say I’m a programmer.
What would people be surprised about your family?
We each have our own one thing that makes us different. We are all well unified. I don’t really know if that’s unusual…
What would you do if you won the lottery?
Lauren: Buy a mansion!
Melesia: Yea, buy a new house and all our kids would go to Harvard.
Runde’s would like to thank the Brosnahan family. We wish nothing but the best. Enjoy the new truck and family car!
